Battle of the Beehive
Saturday I rode in the Layton Battle of the Beehive. There were some sick riders there. My first run was so sick. I was the only amateur to land a flair! The pro who won was like, "You should have entered Pro! You killed my run." It felt pretty good, I'm not gonna lie. For my second run I heard Ed from 5050bmx go over the criteria again; creativity, style, amplitude, overall use of the park, and sportsmanship. I hit all of the criteria solid except amplitude so my second run, I made sure to hit some big air and fun creative tricks to show the judges I was well rounded.
At the end right before announcing the winner for Advanced class 1st place they said, "We choose the winner on consistency not the best run." Well, you live and learn. I could have pulled out the exact same run again, but that's no fun. Either way it was hella fun to ride with some great riders and meet more great Utah friends. I'm excited for the next competition!
