Ed’s concert in Ullevi, Gothenberg on 11 July 2018, just last week. He’s playing the song, Thinking Out Loud. The monitor screen shows various sketches of couples in love. Around 0:52, the screen colors change to blue and green, and the couple is indeed a gay male couple.

Ed Sheeran has been friends with the boys since at least 2013. They are professional colleagues and have appeared in award shows together. 

He is particularly close to Harry. 

When asked in a BBC Radio 1 interview in 2015, Harry stated that his favorite Ed Sheeran song was Thinking Out Loud. Here’s his reason:

I'm gonna pick Thinking Out Loud, Ed Sheeran - It's a personal song for me.

A couple of Christmases ago I actually bought Ed a guitar for Christmas. And this was one of the first songs that he wrote on it, so it's one of my favourite Ed Sheeran songs.

Ed has written songs for One Direction, including 18 and Little Things. He has also had this cryptic exchange with an audience member at one of his concerts:

Fan: Marry Harry!

Ed: Nah, he-- he’s taken.

Fan: By Louis!

Ed (introducing a song): I’d like-- (laughs)-- innit.

And now, for something completely different. In the same BBCR1 interview (25 December 2015), Harry has a funny exchange about chocolate coin problems.

Interviewer: Are you regifting a selection box?

Harry: I’m not much of a chocolate guy. So it’s a shame for it to go to waste.

Interviewer: Not even a chocolate coin?

Harry: No, I mean. They’ve given me some problems in the past.

Interviewer: Have you tried to use them on the bus?

Harry: No! They’re very difficult. You get-- like you’re trying to get the thing off... I haven’t done chocolate coins for a while. So I don’t know, I can’t spe-- I’m not educated enough for the subject right now.

Interviewer: You’ve rested on the chocolate currencies.

Harry: I’m on a chocolate sabbatical at the moment. 

Interview: Okay. That is completely your choice.

Hmm. Chocolate coin problems.
