God this town still stinks..
Isaiah narrowed his eyes and sat back as he watched the townspeople walk by him, most paying no attention to his presence on the bench in the small park. It was uncomfortable for him to be around this many people-- he had never really gotten used to crowds, not that the showing of people in the park was a crowd by any normal standards but Isaiah considered a congregation of any more than five or six people to be too many for his liking-- but he had not wanted to go all the way to the Wraith Woods today. His face remained set as he sat observing the people who passed by him.
The woman looked up at the sign, squinting at the brightness. She held one hand to her head as she slowly walked into the building. She was overwhelmed with the noises and lights. Her head was pounding and the blood dripped between her fingertips. Where am I? Where am I? she asked herself, unsure of what town she had stumbled upon. She closed her eyes, finding a railing to lean on for balance. Her clothes were dirty and torn. Her boots tracked blood in on the clean tile floors. She glanced up at the person, giving them a slightly perplexed look. Did she know them?
River slide into a booth at Vince's Diner. Her hair and clothes were soaked by the rain, but none of that mattered. She sighed, finally able to relax her legs for a little while. She ordered a coffee and proceeded to open the note that was stuck under the windshield wiper of her car. She glanced up, noticing a shadow blocking her light. "Estoy ocupado. Déjame en paz," she said coldly.
Picking at the food mindlessly Annette dreaded going back. She had completed her duties at the inn early and due to the quiet start of spring there were not many guests to assist. She drug her feet leaving the building praying they would ask her to stay longer and allow her to complete her routine but it seemed impossible. Now she had two more hours to spend and she couldn't stand the down time. Throwing away the remainder of her food not even hungry, Annette stood up and walked out the door. Her mind unsettled from the change in schedule as she walked the very familiar route home. Not paying attention to what exactly she was doing, Annette bumped into someone on the sidewalk nearly falling over as she found her balance against a nearby wall.
Looking up at the person she assualted, embarrassed she tried not to cry as she apologized endlessly.
Vi's face flushed bright red as she left the hospital; the beast screaming at her, ripping her self-esteem to shreds. She didn't even want the job, not really, but she knew she needed the money. Even if her pack was willing to pay for her to stay in the slums, she wanted the security of knowing she could provide for herself when the time came. People never stayed around for long, not in her life, so it was best that she was prepared. She was rushing, not looking where she was going. She bumped into someone callously. "Do you mind?"
Sleep would be ideal, but it wouldn't be very likely. With heightened hearing causing the world to be terribly and unforgivably loud, plus Sammy's terrible sleeping habits Aria had spent three times the usual preparation time to look socially acceptable. There was also the fact that she felt as if she hadn't seen anyone in ages, tucked safely away in her own bubble learning to deal with what she was now - who she was now. Her social life, for the first time in her meticulously planned existence, was remarkably depressing. She had found herself filling her planner with mundane lists just to prevent it from being entirely barren. Walking through the farmer's market, Aria smiled widely welcoming herself back to the world.
Odette left the flickering lights of the butcher shop behind, edgy with the smell of the blood bags in her purse. It was a stormy night but she was hungry, and she couldn’t help leaving the house. She still hadn’t gotten used to the taste of the animal blood. It was strong and bitter, and it didn’t bring the same feeling of ecstasy the human one did. Still, it was enough to clench the hunger that burned through her, if only for a little while. Drinking it cold was absolutely horrible, so she started taking it to the house, warming it and drinking it from cups as if it were tea or coffee. It made the whole affair less disgusting. A wave of wind broke her umbrella just as she was distracted in her thoughts and Odette’s purse fell on the floor, revealing the blood bags. “Clumsy me…” Her voice was almost panicked, as knew she wasn’t alone and the thought of being found out by someone from the authority made her stomach turn. As the nearby presence handed her one of the fallen items, she raised her eyes to meet theirs. “Thank you…”
