Selena’s nightmares aren’t often. Not like they used to be, but that didn’t make them any less horrific to have. Mainly because they were memories, ones she tried so hard to forget, but it’s hard for her to erase those things from her mind. Tonight’s nightmare was just as worse, and when she jolted away, she was trembling, panting, and sweating. Vivid images swimming around her head, screams echoing in her ears. She wouldn’t be going back to sleep any time soon, and she wasn’t going to disturb the sleeping man beside her. 

She carefully got up from the bed, and tip-toed out of the bedroom, as quiet as she can on shaky legs. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she felt sick. The screams had not only belonged to her, but to the many victims as well, followed by the sickening laugh that belonged to the clown prince of crime. Her legs gave out, and she landed on her knees, trying to hold back a sob that threatened to escape. She covered her face with shaky hands, eyes squeezed shut, to prevent the tears from breaking free.

the brunette turned to the former solider, plush lips pressed into a thin line. ‘ no, no you didn’t bucky. what he said was out of line and he deserved what i said to him. if i didn’t have to worry about the stark image, i would’ve kicked his ass. ‘ she huffed, arms crossing over her chest. ‘ let me put it like this. you don’t deserve it no more than i deserve the bullcrap people throw at me. ‘

‘ what do ya think, buck ? should we give the poor guy a break ? ‘ selena’s eyes go from the blond to the other brunette, lips stretched into a mischievous grin. ‘ have we embarrassed poor steve enough ? ‘ she adores steve, but she never passed up an opportunity to show him how much a stark she really was. especially when she got bucky involved.
