I like your endgames! By the end of series, I just wanted Damon and Stefan dead while Elena (kinda wish she died too), Bonnie, and Caroline moving on from them. If the series had been different, I would have also loved the ones you propose only Stefan w Caroline running the school. Elena/Matt would have been part time involved with the supernatural world full time MF protectors still the sheriff and a doctor. Bonnie and Damon off traveling the world and visiting MF when they needed to.

Thank you! I could totally see that! Damon and Stefan dying together would have been pretty epic, in hindsight. Depressing, but interesting story-wise. I just really like the idea of all of this vampire mess ending with a message about how valuable humanity (theirs, and ours) is. That’s one of the things I loved about the first couple of seasons, and they never really fulfilled that potential. 

But also, Bonnie and Damon traveling the world, awww yes please!!

Sorry! You asked this forever ago, referencing an ask I answered also forever ago. But basically I mean that when the creators of a story take the time and energy to focus on a pairing in their narrative as an explicit, romantic couple, it increases that pairing’s impact with fans exponentially.

Meaning, there are lots of people who get into fanon pairings, and their fervor and creativity are immense, but in terms of sheer numbers the canon pairings always have a leg up because the vast majority of people who are watching/reading these stories are doing so very passively. They are led by the narrative, reacting and relying on the story to point them towards which relationships and which characters to root for.

So I don’t remember what the original ask was about, but basically for a ship like Bamon to be such a force in fandom even without the canon bump was kind of amazing. If the writers had deigned to give them an actual shot at romance in canon, imagine how things could have been.

Tbh I'm highkey just waiting for tvd bloopers and deleted scenes and praying that we have some somergraham bts chemistry or deleted bamon scenes that were too romantic or something like that. I mean if Kat and Ian decided to sneak in a couple kisses I wouldn't be opposed to it...(I'd probably die tbh)

LMAO I doubt the TVD creators would ever give us that, even as a gag reel, but man. That would be amazing, can you imagine the fandom-wide meltdown? Haha it would be beautiful

But like I just don't understand why they left so much ambiguity in bamon scenes if they had ZERO plans for it?? I know it's been a few weeks but I'm still feeling hella salty. The whole 'I cared about him more than anyone else', 'I don't know what he was', 'I would lose my mind', 'Not until I know you're okay' wtf was that for???

Yeah man, I’m still leaning towards the idea that they were baiting us for as long as they needed to. And I think we’ll all be feeling bitter for just about forever.

But the thing about them having done that though is that it’s pretty much open game on the idea that Bonnie and Damon did/do love each other romantically. Like that’s what scenes like that mean on any other show/story.
