Part 2: Be Dedicated
One thing most people know about me is that I'm crazy passionate about everything I do here on campus, and whether or not that's a great idea in the long-run, through my commitments, I've really learned a lot about what it means to be dedicated. If I were to describe many other people's interpretation of dedication, it would sound something like Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett's motto, "Hard work - Dedication." The general consensus on being dedicated is that if you work hard that must mean that you're dedicated to whatever project, job, etc.
Something I have to remind myself of daily is that true dedication starts in a soft heart and doesn't start with hard work. With all my commitments this semester, I've really had to examine myself and ask "Where is your heart?" When I figure out what holds my heart, I know what I'm dedicated to. Overall, I pray that my overarching dedication is to serving Christ because He is the one that should hold my heart, because through His work on the cross, He's made it pure. My soft heart makes it easier to love hard, which leaves me so much more full than just working hard. When you love hard, anything and everything you do means more than completing a bunch of busy work. This year has been a realignment of so many things in my life that I can't wait to share with you all. As I look to next school year (my JUNIOR YEAR OH MAA GEEZE), I know that the Lord is shifting my life around and showing me what dedication to Christ means in my life. (Sorry this is kind of disorganized, still recovering from my concert on Friday...) ---- Remember, if you'd like to donate/find out more about my trip, visit http://igg.me/at/DedzidiDR/ Stay right here for more posts!
