Worked a little bit more on this critter today. Next step is to figure out how I want to attach the arms and antenna and then to back it with a brooch. I think next I'm going to do a a monarch butterfly I'm feeling the sunset color palette. Taking a break from earrings to work on my bead applique. I'm still loving these unique and beautiful insects, so today I am working on a rosemary beetle. it's a gorgeous beetle that's iridescent green with stripes of fuchsia. I dug deep into my stash and pulled out my Miyuki delicas for this one, along with freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals not quite sure what I'm going to end up using yet. This will be my first time working on a new beading foundation product that I was able to buy called Lacy's stiff stuff. So far, even though I've barely begun, I'm already liking how it feels to stitch through it and I found it very easy to trace onto. I finished another beaded moth, This one is a smaller brooch made for a friend's mother. I'm so happy with how it turned out this time I used to combination Czech seed beads and Miyuki delicas along with crystals, pearls and liquid sterling silver beads for the antenna. Ps. monogramming the A on to the organza bag was probably the most tedious thing I've ever done.
