Do you guys think that the reptiles of beastars well the one that has scales would give a piece of their scale to someone they love and cherish??
I keep thinking about how Legoshi and Toki thought about how beautiful the komodo dragon scales are, and i thought maybe if they could they will give a piece of themselves to that special someone.
Maybe Gosha gave a piece of himself in Toki's hand so that she won't be lonely. Maybe Yahya kept a piece of Gosha's scale because it's important to him and he couldn't throw it away and he just hide it for safe keeping. Maybe that 1 piece of scale could be too much for Leano. Maybe Legoshi have 1 or 2 from Gosha & Leano but it could be with him all the time or he left it behind but it's safe and maybe he couldn't bring himself to look at it because he's still grieving.
Savon and the Dokugumi might have that kind of ritual, they probably exchange each other scale because of how important they are to each other and it serves as a memory for their fallen comrades.
Rain doesn't really care if it's painful or not but he'll take one of his scales and gave it to the person he's close with. He exchanged one with Savon and Gosha, secretly gave 1 to Gohin, Idris, & Jasira, he directly gave 1 to Sabu, Jinma, & Miguel and in exchange they gave a piece of their mane to Rain that he braid together to be kept safe.
I totally understand why people ship legoshi/louis and gosha/yahya and I respect that but honestly the whole point of interspecies love and louis and legoshi being paralells of each other stands out to me.
Louis's love for Juno is always overshadowed by Legoshi and Haru which is honestly really disappointing to me because the way they both come to terms (they don't) to the fact they have to part ways is so messy.
The feelings were there and our glorious queen Juno can see through Louis's whole act but NO. NOT TO MENTION LEGOSHI AND HARU MAN.
And don't get me started with Gosha/Yahya. I understand how much chemistry and tension there is, I acknowledge it. But the betrayal mechanic that Yahya carries is such a catalyst for this ship man. Yk what, I would straight beef too if I got ditched but the again HE FELL IN LOVE AND FOUND EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO PROTECT. TO PRESERVE. That was the mission and Gosha says this but he understands Yahya's anger which is why he doesn't lash out but remains calm.
AND ALL OF THE SCENES WITH GOSHA AND HIS WIFE ARE SO FUCKING SWEET.
Do you think that Leano's life and Legosi's life would have been different if Toki wasn't dead? If Leano had had her mother and if Legoshi had had a grandma?
I think it would have been different, but I can't seem to make up my mind on whether ‘different’ also means ‘better’.

Toki’s Death + Its Impact on Gosha
Though it's debtable as to whether Toki committed suicide via Gosha’s venom, or whether it was meant to be a spontaneous declaration of love of some kind ... I think that there's a middle ground between the two.
You can be naïve and selfish; having one trait doesn't cancel the other out.
I say “naïve” because I want to give Toki the benefit of the doubt, and look at the situation from a perspective she may have had. She’s implied to be airheaded (this is said by a bitter Yahya, but it seems to hold up), yet she's incredibly accepting of Gosha.
In her mind, her kiss of death wasn't necessarily suicide. It could have been an attempt to make Gosha realise that he doesn't need to be so cautious around her. Maybe she saw how Gosha isolates himself from others due to his venom, and wants him to feel loved.
If you’ve been protected from something for so long, you tend to underestimate the danger because you’ve never, personally experienced it. This would explain why she chose to kiss Gosha in front of their child — she didn't actually expect to die.
As for the “seflish” part of the equation: that was still an incredibly selfish risk to take. At the absolute worst, she could have expected to die. I don't believe I need to explain this point further.
Back to Gosha: Learning that your beloved killed themselves is one thing. Learning that they killed themselves, using you to do so, has to be a different kind of pain completely.
It's a death that wouldn't be possible at all if Gosha were not a Komodo dragon. So then, the natural question that comes from this is: “Was Toki so unhappy with her relationship with me (Gosha) that she felt the only way to escape was to kill herself?”
The thing is, Gosha can only assume that that was what Toki felt. He has no way of knowing. Assuming that Toki had ... admirable intentions, she failed in whatever she was trying to do. Her death, I believe, led to Gosha’s relative indifference towards their daughter, Leano.
But what if Toki survived, or better yet — she never attempted to kiss Gosha without his disinfectant?

What if Toki Lived? [Leano]
If we work with the assumption that Leano, in the manga, knew that her mother died as a result of her father, then it's understandable why she would seek to distance herself from him as much as possible. Part of it which be the societal pressure, but there's no denying that Gosha was a large factor in Toki’s death.
In this AU, where Toki never kicked the bucket, I feel as if society would have still pushed Leano to pretend she was a pureblooded wolf. The alternative to that would have been bullying (perhaps similar to what Melon faced as a child).
Is it strange that I don't see Gosha as the type to encourage anyone to claim him as family? It's strange — he gives the impression that he won't fight to change the status quo (though he's upset that the status quo even exists in the first place).
On the other hand, Toki would be more encouraging. She wouldn't shy away from trying to make Leano feel proud of her Komodo dragon heritage.
What does it say when it's your mother who has to assure you that nothing is wrong with you? Consequently, what does it say when your father seems to have accepted that animals of his type (which make up ½ of you) will always be treated badly by society?
It's a mixed message.
Still, it's better for Leano to have that positive reinforcement from Toki than none at all.
I still believe that Leano, once her scales grew in, would have barricaded herself in her room. But, I want to believe that she would have eventually left her room.
She would have worn clothes to cover her scales, but eventually ... eventually, maybe she would have stopped covering them.

What if Toki Lived? [Legoshi]
Legoshi learnt most of his mannerisms from Gosha. I can't say I can picture him as anything but soft-spoken, but maybe Toki’s encouragement makes Legoshi more confident in himself.
Toki wouldn't want her grandson to turn out like her daughter. Unlike Gosha, who is content to let Legoshi find his own way, Toki is extremely willing to give Legoshi advice.
In my head, Legoshi calls her more than he would call Gosha, just by virtue of Toki being more helpful.
