Remix AU - Chapter 4

Trollex and Beat were in a great mood. Their first remix came out amazing, and the young king couldn't wait for more musical experiments. The rock remix played at full volume, while Bubble tore through the warm earth, creating a new underwater tunnel.

"Trollex, man, this remix is amazing!", Beat said happily. "I could listen to it all day long!"

Trollex laughed, grateful for the compliment.

"First of all, thank Barb.", said the king. "After all, she helped me understand rock music. Without her, this remix wouldn't have come out as good as it did."

Trollex honestly believed he did a great job with his remix. He didn't take Barb's outburst and anger seriously. Eventually, she'll understand that he only made her music better, with that little bit of techno he added.

Suddenly, Bubble burst through a completely new underwater tunnel. The whale made a happy sound. Finally, she didn't have to dig into the hard ground. The group came across an extensive network of tunnels, each leading to a different place. Seeing this, Trollex took out and checked the map.

"Hmm... You know, Beat, I think we'll be able to get to the other kingdoms.", stated the young techno troll. "Look, if we sail in that direction, we should reach Symphonyville."

Beat Drop hummed thoughtfully, then nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you're right.", he said. "We should get there before sunset, right?"

Trollex nodded, then signaled Bubble to continue her journey. Thanks to the already carved tunnels, the trip to the territory of the classical trolls didn't take long. The underwater currents were strong and pushed the whale on their own, allowing her to conserve her strength. With each passing hour, they were getting closer to the new territory.

The sun was slowly setting, painting the golden mountains in a warm orange. The moon was slowly rising in the sky, signaling to the classical trolls that night was coming. Trollzart, the proud leader and conductor, was finishing the last symphony of the day. The classical trolls, small and plump, with glittery bodies and small but strong wings, followed the conductor's lead, playing a wonderful melody, perfectly set against the sunset. As the concert came to an end, the crowd of trolls who had been watching the musicians began to clap gracefully. Trollzart and his group bowed.

"Thank you, thank you very much, my dears.", said Trollzart. "I'm glad you liked it. And now, I wish you all a good..."

Before Trollzart could finish his sentence, the ground shook. The classic trolls gasped and looked around, not knowing what was happening.

"What in the world is going on?", asked a troll with big blue hair.

"Is one of the mountains about to collapse?", added a young troll with beautiful pink curls.

"Please calm down, my dears!", Trollzart tried to control the situation. "I'm sure it's nothing serious..."

Suddenly, the golden ground opened up and filled with water. Out of that water, a whale emerged. Bubble, seeing the new trolls that immediately gathered around her, smiled happily. And then, she opened her mouth. Just like before, Trollex appeared, holding his fish friend in his arms.

"Hey, hey, classics!" Trollex greeted them happily.

His unexpected presence made the trolls feel quite confused. Trollzart stepped forward, just as surprised as the others.

"King Trollex? Oh my... It's nice to see you, but, I have to ask... What are you doing here?", asked the conductor. "And at such an hour. If I had known earlier, I would have prepared some tea."

"Sorry, Trollzar.", said Trollex. "Honestly, I didn't even know I'd be here, if you asked me yesterday. I'd love to tell you all about it, but first, would you mind if we stayed here for the night?"

Trollzart looked at his trolls, and each of them, seeing that the techno leader had visited them, took on a friendly attitude. Classical trolls could be very hospitable, especially to friends. If his people had nothing against it, Trollzart even more so. The leader bowed respectfully, and invited the young techno troll to come over.

"King Trollex, make yourself at home."

Trollex bowed as well, and followed the host to his home. Trollzart lived on the highest mountain from which he could oversee his beautiful kingdom.

Trollex and Beat were amazed. Symphonyville was beautiful! The classical trolls really gave it their all during the rebuilding after the World Tour. Who would have thought that such little trolls could be so strong? It didn't take them long to reach Trollzart's house.

The conductor let them enter first. His house was really big. Huge paintings adorned the walls, which were already beautifully decorated with gold inlays and details. Statues stood by the doors and there were also instruments, with which one could play classical music.

Trollzart invited his guests to the dining room, where he treated them to delicious dishes, such as vanilla pudding or creamy cheesecake. Trollzart was not only a great conductor, but also a great cook. The three of them sat down at the table and began to eat dinner. After such a long journey and adventure in Volcano Rock City, Trollex and Beat were really hungry, and it was seen.

While the techno king and his fish friend were taking a helping, Trollzart finished eating. Of course, he had many questions.

"I hope it tastes good.", said the classical leader.

"Are you kidding me? It's delicious!", exclaimed Beat, not having managed to swallow what he had in his mouth.

Trollzart seemed slightly irritated by his lack of culture, but understood his excitement.

"I am pleased.", he said. "King Trollex, may I ask what brings you here? I have not received any messages from you about your visit."

Trollex drank a glass of pear juice, then wiped his mouth. He understood that he had to be polite and respectful at the table.

"Trollzart, we travel from kingdom to kingdom, wanting to learn more about the different music at its source." said the young king. "I would like to ask if you could teach me something about your classical music."

Hearing this, Trollzart smiled widely and clapped his hands in joy. He didn't know many trolls outside of his kingdom who wanted to understand and learn more about classical music, apart from Poppy, of course. But now wasn't the best time to learn. The sky was already dark, with a few twinkling star lights. They could start learning tomorrow, with new energy.

"I am extremely pleased with your eagerness to learn our music, my boy.", Trollzart said happily. "But let us start tomorrow, first thing in the morning. You and your fish friend should get some rest."

Trollex and Beat nodded. They were indeed quite tired. After the meal, Trollzart led his guests to the spare room. Trollex was given a comfortable bed to sleep in, and Beat Drop, an aquarium. The trolls said to each other goodnight, and the host left them to get ready for sleep. Trollex put Beat in the aquarium, and then he himself lay down in a comfortable bed.

"I can't wait for tomorrow.", the king said excitedly. "I can already hear the new remix in my head!"

"Me too!", the green fish spun happily. "This is going to be an epic day!"

They both giggled quietly, then yawned.

"Goodnight, Beat."

"Goodnight, Trollex."

Sleep came quickly. After a few minutes, they were both snoring softly, with smiles on their faces, and a dream of a new remix.
