Damon at the Beat Factory Studio in London whilst it was undergoing a refit in 1988. Photo by Marijke Bergkamp, shared by Jane Nicola alongside her three part podcast about Graeme Holdaway.
In the first and the second podcast Jane speaks to Alex Holdaway (who was married to Graeme for more than twenty years) and Marijke Bergkamp (who co-owned the Beat Factory).
In the third part she talks to Sonja Kristina from Curved Air who was recording her music at the Beat Factory studio in the late 80s. and remembers Damon and Seymour very well: “He was definitely a superstar. (…) I got to talk to him, got to know him because he was around the studio there…, and he had that kind of charisma. And I remember Marijke put on this gig for the record company to come down to which was really just Seymour on the stage in this pub and nobody there really apart from us and the record company (…) but Damon was just giving it the full projection, the full energy as though he was on the biggest stage in the world which is definitely an impressive thing because you tend to play down when there’s not many people there…”
