#15 - Jungle - Beat 54 (All Good Now)
There’s a modern soul collective going on in London, and they go by the name of Jungle. They come up with this modern takes on old school disco and soul vibes. If you ever needed something that reminds you of the Bee Gees, but came out in the past decade, Jungle is here for you. There has never been a song that I’ve wanted to do a flash mob to more than “Beat 54″ (except maybe Paul McCartney’s “Let Em In” . I’m not going to pretend like I care about the lyrics. I’m not going to pretend like there’s some deep meaning hidden here among the general feeling of love lost and overcoming it. It’s all about the groove for me. That beat. That soaring chorus. I’m serious about the flash mob thing. Do I need to start a petition or something? And most crazy of all, why does this not have a music video? Why was this not a single? A definite missed opportunity. Anyhow, if this feeling I’m describing is something you can get into, Jungle’s got two albums with your name on them.
