This year was my 7th BHOF! I was called up by Jonny Porkpie to choreograph the Opening and Closing numbers. I put out a casting call, and 50 performers were cast! All weekend I had people coming up to me and gushing about how well it went. Trust me, I had the easy job! Everyone who made it into that stage worked like crazy to get there. I’m so proud of the work they did! I told them all ‘Sure, performing on the BHOF stage is scary, but it’s also the easiest stage in the world because you’re performing for your friends, and they’ll clap for anything!’ The emcees Blanche DeBris, Betsy BottomDollar, Tito Bonito, Jeez Loueez, and Lola Van Ella we’re all great sports about getting a ton of singing dumped into their laps and they were fantastic. I watched from backstage, which is of course the most flattering angle to watch musical numbers from. Now that I’m back in Tucson, it was totally worth it, and who knows?
