I just wanted to tell you that you're amazingly inspiring to me and reading your comics makes me want to actually work on the fanfic I've been meaning to right for ages now that centered around Steve Rogers and Bucky and everything like that. Keep up the amazing work and take care of yourself :)
Thank you! You don't know how much it means to me that you're feeling inspired to work on your own stuff. :D!!! I'm definitely trying to live my life through taking action -- I used to be someone who'd say "if only someone would do this....", but now I'm like "fuck that, *I'll* do it." If I want more women in the Captain America universe, if I want less Eurocentrism, I'm just gonna do it myself. After all, what else is fandom for, but to fill in what the source material has neglected? Sure the stuff that I make is not of the caliber that I want -- and of course creating something is inherently filled with self-doubt and vulnerability, but the best way to get better is to just do it. At least with the stuff that I've made, I can say I gave it a fair shot, and it's something that's distinctly *mine.*
Also, what's amazing is that once I decided to stop expending energy on self-doubt and just embrace my creative desires, I have a lot more time an energy to actually make the thing! I may wince a lot when I look at my old stuff, but I'd rather keep making stuff and putting it out there instead of wallowing in regret and shame.
In conclusion: yay for making your own stuff!!! :DDDD
