I know you said you were considering stopping watching Doctor Who, but do you think Peter Capaldi will be a better Doctor? Like, do you think Moffat will write him less sexist and stuff?
You know I honestly don't know. If I were to make my opinion based on Moffat's past work, I'd say there's little chance of Doctor Who improving under him. Even when he wasn't head writer, his episodes were sexist and bland not to mention OOC. He has good ideas sometimes, but executing them is certainly not his strong point; neither is continuity. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dance is bit of a stretch. I generally love those episodes but there's still parts that rub me the wrong way, mostly how he wrote Rose.
I want to be positive about it so badly though! I think Peter Capaldi will be an amazing Doctor just like Matt Smith was and all the other Doctors before him. He loves Doctor Who, knows it, and will do his best to bring out the best in the Doctor!
But an actor can only do so much under horrible writing. I thought things were going to get better during season 7b but eventually it went back to being usual Moffat episodes which is sad. Unless someone above Moffat were to crack down on his writing, I honestly don't think we're going to see much of a difference. Which is a real shame really because the Capaldi and Coleman deserve better. EVEN MATT SMITH DESERVED BETTER which is why I'm sad that we'll never get a chance to see Eleven shine under a better writer :c
I want to watch Capaldi act as twelve. I want to see how he portrays the Doctor, but I'm just tired of Moffat. My patience with him has pretty much worn out OTL
Let's hope Moffat leaves and a better writer takes his place before Capaldi leaves
