Ryke: Jesus..... Our dad is a fucking asshole, in fact Loren and I have lots of experience with shitty parents in our own family, and our girlfriends' families too, but even WE'D never stoop to such a fucked up level.........

Loren: And you didn't think you at least owed it to your dad to tell him about it when he helped you and your girlfriend while she was being targeted by that mob family?

Honestly, despite his issues, he's been there for us in quite a few messes........ Hell, he's supported our girlfriends and their 2 older sisters when things got really messed up, which honestly is more than I can say about their own parents.

Loren; Moreso Samantha...... I mean, Greg honestly just stays quiet half the time, except when he grilled you about your intentions with Daisy, but Samantha? Jeez...... Malachi, I think your mom and our girlfriends' mom would be best friends.

Rhett:................... Why is it out of all of us, you have the most fucked up way of showing how much you love your girlfriend? Not even Josh has gone that far, and the worst he did was break into his girlfriend's house and place cameras around the place........... Did I really just say that?

Josh: I mean, you're not wrong, Rhett! Even with my questionable methods, the last thing I ever would do was do anything to Aly against her will........ Honestly Malachi, I think I speak for everyone when I say you scare the hell out of all of us........

Loren: Yeah...... You'll be lucky if we don't choose to call the police on you after this...... *pauses*..... Where the hell are we anyway? How did we all get here? Ryke and I were at the gym this afternoon when we saw some white light, and suddenly we ended up here.........

Johnny: Yeah...... Same with me, I was on a date with Shannon when we both blacked out and I woke up here with all of you.....

Rhett: Summer and I were just having coffee, then boom, I'm here the next minute.....

Josh;..... I don't remember anything between waking up here and making breakfast for Aly.......

Malachi:........"I think I saw some weird blue haired girl before waking up here, that's all I remember....."

Johnny:....... Man..... Gibsie is going to have a field day when I tell him about this.......

Ryke: Another thing..... Why the hell are you here with us? You're just some highschool kid, aren't you?

Johnny: I'm a 6th year at Tommen College! *pauses*....... It's still 2005, right?

Recently in an interview with KBE, they said that Raisy wasn’t actually planned !! They said they would’ve made Daisy older by at least a year or two.

I find that really interesting 😭😭 I think it would’ve saved so much uncomfortableness

I saw that. I find it very interesting as well, but I think they figured out Raisy were going to be together before they sat down to write Hothouse Flower, because especially in Kiss the Sky, there's a lot of references to the fact that Ryke and Daisy are kind of flirting. There's also the interview where they ask "who has the best legs?" and Ryke hesitates and in her narration, Rose says "he's clearly thinking Daisy." Connor even goes so far as to say in his thoughts that age is just a social construct and doesn't denote maturity (another thing we've heard predators say). And when he, Rose, and Ryke are talking about Ryke's attraction to Daisy, Rose says "You like her. It's okay to like her." And I'm like ma'am. Your sister is seventeen and this man is twenty-three. And like, I know Julian sucks, believe me, but y'all were so weird about Daisy dating that grown adult. But not when it's Ryke, apparently. Lo is the only one who has the 100% correct take on what's going on.

And I want to be really careful because I don't think KBR intentionally wrote Ryke to be a groomer. My honest opinion is that they just get carried away with making sure all of their ships read as soulmates and meant to be. And when it comes to Ryke and Daisy, that's just a little more fucking yikes than most. Especially when you consider in Long Way Down, Ryke cops to being attracted to Daisy the first time he saw her, when she was underage. And I know he didn't know. But the thing was, KBR did, and they chose to write it in there.

So while I have to take them at their word that they would've made her older, I have to acknowledge that 1) KBR do like 6/7 year age gaps if LU is anything to go off of. And when they decided Ryke and Daisy were going to be together, it didn't seem like her age was seriously taken into account. It was just kind of written as, like, an obstacle for them. And that feels kind of weird in my opinion.
