this new ‘reader’ thing is the weirdest thing 2 me like….back in my day we just wrote blatant self-inserts and called it a day

lmao almost every time i search for something on here in the search results there are those fanfiction posts and NOBODY ever use cuts and i have to scroll with a speed of light yet sometimes i accidentally read a line or two that has this ‘reader’ format (style?) and it just makes me go whiteguyblinking.gif

lmao same but like.... reverse i always wonder if i were born elsewhere would i like the same books or would i be deterred by the translation because sometimes when i attempt to read something translated into english/french it’s obviously still good (most of the time) but it just doesn't sound as nice esp if it’s like a ~humorous oeuvre
