Last week I discovered my very favorite #newrestaurant: @maligne in seaside. @klausgeoris absolutely KICKED a$$, took names and laid it all d.o.w.n with a bang! From the very creative drink inventions (their “clear” Royal is out of this world), to the little homemade sauce inventions (including their special hot sauce in the clever dropper, idea I’m totally shamelessly stealing) to using #dairybeef cleverly, and accurately, described as #beefflavoredbeef, delicious #crabcakeonremoulade and the IMPECCABLE #tunacollar, a dish I’ll be tasting and talking about for a loooooong time to come. So bear with me. :-) But I can’t help it, it was just true perfection. Desserts include the #georisfamily Belgian waffles secret recipe, only passed along to those with the name Nico in the family, and a great not too sweet not too drunk baba au rhum. Definitely coming back for much more, and for that #unforgettabletuna. Huge bonus: the team of young, energetic, hip, talented, fun, wonderful people adds just the injection of new ambition we so very desperately needed around here. By the way, the perfect London accent of the perfect maître de cérémonies took me right back to Europe. I could hear him all day. :-) I sincerely hope they’re here to stay, and will make sure to do our part to keep them not only here, but thriving.
