you can tell there are gross straight men in the writing room when a girl (even with Slayer strength) agrees to sitting down in a booth, trapped on both sides by multiple aggressively flirty frat boys who are encouraging her to drink heavily after such choice lines as “you’re a very beautiful girl who should be covered in men. and can we be those men?” especially when she had been previously betrayed by another flirty frat boy offering her a drink. no matter how sad she was after Parker, that’s just ridiculous.
I’m going to say that actually Buffy hitting Parker over the head with a club is the best possible ending for that arc thematically also. “Ohhh I had sex one time with a guy who wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship with me – does that make me a slut?” is a pretty regressive storyline – the fact that she doesn’t end up ~learning anything and just gets to have the catharsis of violence instead is much more satisfying, and ultimately does Buffy much less of a disservice than any other conclusion I can think of them having gone for.
so i take it youre a buffy fan? whats your favorite episode and why is it once more with feeling

BTVS 4.05 It's just, Parker's problem with intimacy turns out to be that he can't get enough of it. And I knew it. I knew what he was.
