I've been a pagan for nearly two years now and I'm starting to feel a strong pull towards learning about being a Kemetic. I had seen the House of Netjer mentioned before and I wanted to know if you thought it worthwhile to take their class? Also if I do decide to go ahead do i have to give up working with my current Deities?
I have always recommended that people take the beginners course, even if they don’t think they’re going to join KO as a shemsu. The reason being that there is a lot of misinformation about KO out there, and one of the only ways to really be able to tell what is rumor and what is accurate is to actually take the class and learn about what KO is and what it isn’t.
In theory you are supposed to give up working with your current gods, but the truth is- they have no way of telling if you actually have or haven’t. So whether you do or don’t is really kind of up to you. Though some people have gone into this thinking that they wouldn’t, and then the gods tell them to do so anyways- so be aware that that could happen. There certainly can be a benefit from taking a step back from the gods you’re currently with, but each relationship is different, and so I don’t really begrudge what people choose to do during the BC in regards to their current deity relationships.
You probably get this a lot so i am sorry for being a pain, but Where do i start on the Kemetic orthodox path, what do i do as a beginner. I no its right for me i just dont know where to start. Thanks in advance.
You’d start by going onto their website and signing up for the beginners class. It’ll probably be a while before the next one starts, since Wep Ronpet is coming up. But then after that, you go through the class, and if you like it, you undergo the RPD, accept the results, get your name, and then you’re a full fledged Shemsu of the faith.
So the first step is to sign up for the beginners class on their website.
