Starting the Day I’m not a fan of resolutions. The perception of them and what they symbolize, I can do without. They’re extremely limiting, and very black and white. Humans are not black and white in how we go about our lives. So resolutions? No thank you. However, spiritually-speaking the turning of the calendar is a time for renewal. We can change the things we want and leave the same that which works for each of us. Making changes and adjustments allows for us to be nicer to ourselves, not so hard and unforgiving on ourselves. We can all get sick

It may be that you agree with the lifting of restrictions in the UK. I know how tying masks can be, but this isn’t one of those situations, where any of us have guarantees we won’t get sick, because the virus is still out there, it can strike at any time.

You don’t know that the person sat next to you on the tube isn’t sickening for Covid-19, or the relative you’ve just seen has been near someone who they didn’t know had Covid. I know dealing with respiratory disease, I can’t afford to try that out.

And whilst masks are no longer a requirement in the UK, no one’s safety is guaranteed. I manage a walk and the hairdressers through prior arrangement with my stylist. I wear a mask and visor, which saves me from potentially getting sick.

The rest of my social time has gone. It is prudent for us to continue to wear masks in public places. Would you rather not do something and get sick, or do something that keeps you safe and avoids sickness?

Wearing masks is keeping us and each other safe, it’s keeping our loved ones safe. It’s also helping the virus dissipate, it’s what we need, it’s what the world needs. This is a pandemic, we can all get sick, and we have no guarantees.

Our only guarantee is that we can all get sick and for those who have become infected, they can get reinfected. Please help to keep yourself safe, so those who are vulnerable and high safe, can also get back into their lives.
