It is hard to be a Black woman artist in Belize, who is lower middle class, non-academic, and who has persistently called-out and called-in the National Institute of Culture and History for their long standing cultural inertia. Featuring ongoing month-long exhibitions, the project aims to connect audiences to the work of diverse artists whilst offering an unusual exhibiting space. All artists involved are responding to the theme: The Lands of the Free? All artworks are editions. Artists are invited to send artwork for one or both venues. The exhibitions are accompanied with information about the artist, their work and their country. The project has been initiated and is curated by artist Kate Genever https://www.instagram.com/p/B2Z75v7F7H1/?igshid=1iwpht4bu8u14
