Absolutely criminal that Panhandle doesn't have a fandom presence on this website. I mean Come On look at these two
Loser Pathetic "I miss my wife" Billionaire Bastard and Abandonment Issues Fear of Commitment "I love my son" Single Mother team up to solve crimes? This is peak tumblr content you guys LOCK the fuck IN
Vida's family is clearly hiding something about her death. The woman I assume is Vida's mother or even stepmother does NOT want something to get out, and neither does her father.
I think Vida knew too much about the family business and threatened to go to the cops with it unless they let her in on the take. I do not think Bell actually killed her. But I'm also not sure we've met all the players yet, which is interesting. We could meet someone totally new that cracks into other aspects of the murder case.
Can I just say though, that as much as I dislike the "Dead wife haunts tortured husband" trope they're playing here, it's an interesting spin to have Vida turn out to be such a dick.
Even in death! Even as a hallucination, she is cruel, and vindictive and manipulative. Because as much as Bell was in love with her, not even his mentally ill, grief-addled brain can get away from how abusive she was (and they clearly were to each other).
I will say, I was wondering if there would actually be a body in the casket this past episode. I was kind of rooting for it to be totally empty and for shit to just totally fall apart.
I don't see this lasting more than a season, and episode 3 was certainly not handled as well as it should have been (I had no idea what tone they were going for with the suicide attempts. Like do you think this is supposed to be funny? This is really troubling. This was not handled with sensitivity), but I'm enjoying the mystery ride!
