Creating a witches bottle for luck in the home

In creating a spell for luck I would look for things that seem lucky to you. A lot of traditional luck items such as beans, rice or rabbits feet are lucky because if you had those then you had something to eat!! If I was making a charm I'd look for things that I want to attract in my life. A coin for stability of income, salt for purification and protection form evil, some dried beans or rice for food, a small token of the love I feel for my other half (yes, I'd probably knot some of our hair together, I'm a little oldschool - but we are already bound through marriage so this isn't a binding spell) some of my cat's hair for his protection, a herb from our garden, probably bay laurel leaves as they add extra oomph to a spell. You might want to take a leaf from somewhere that is special to you. And then i'd add whichever crystal felt right to me at the time.  I believe in steeping things to increase the potency, so I'd place these in a small bottle or jar that I'd add a little full moon water too (yep - water I had sitting out in a bowl under the full moon) and I'd give it a gentle shake every day while I told it all the things I wanted it to do. I'd usually try to start this from new moon to full but if I had a need I'd do it straight away. Now keeping that bottle in a place of honor, on an altar or amongst things you love (with your tarot decks perhaps?) is a good way for the charm to spread it's energies throughout your life, and if i feel I need an extra special boost for a certain day I would give the bottle something, maybe a flower or herb, or i'd rub it with some aromatherapy oils to give the magic a boost and some attention. I might even add a silver charm or a colourful ribbon in way of decoration and to bring a little colour magic into the mix. This doesn't exactly follow the traditional witches bottle formula but it works for me  If your have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
