Meanwhile inside Morgan’s moms’ room.
Belle: (glancing at the wall that their room shared with their son’s and lowering her voice) Look, Mia, I’m sorry, I just don’t think I’m ready to get married.
Mia: (wiping away a stray tear) Okay. If you’re not ready, let’s just delay the wedding.
Belle: (wincing) Mia…(inhaling) I don’t want to delay it, I just don’t want to go through it, if I’m being honest. And I think we should take some time apart.
Mia started crying, and Belle awkwardly comforted her, and she was like ‘I’ll talk to Morgan okay? And I’ll pack up my stuff and move out in a few days.’ Mia nodded, turning away from Belle, and Belle got up and left. Mia took a few moments to compose herself, and then she went to talk to Morgan too. Hours later, Mia took Morgan over to her sister Megan’s house.
Megan greeted Mia, and as soon as Morgan went off with his cousin Emily to play dolls, Megan turned to Mia and asked her if she was okay and Mia burst out crying again, and Megan asked ‘woah, what happened?’ And hugged Mia. She led her sister to the kitchen and Mia told her about Belle. Megan sighed deeply, and she reached her hand across the table and put it on Mia’s. Mia sniffled and added that she was glad that at least they didn’t get married only to have Belle be back out then and it would be even messier. Megan nodded, and she let Mia sit and think while she made tea for the two of them. After a while, Mia’s voice was stronger, and she even laughed at a few of Megan’s dad jokes. But Megan could tell that although Mia was okay for now, maybe she wouldn’t be fully alright for some time, and Megan would be there for her.
