Noel Haggard: Oh, yeah, I remember, uh, I stowed away underneath the bus. I got tired of the, uh, lookin' at the taillights pull out. So I stowed away under the bus, and that's when I remember he was Merle Haggard. [Grins and chuckles knowingly as others laugh]. Ben Haggard: [Chuckling] You got under the bus? Noel: Yeah I got in the, you know, the cargo place. Marty Haggard: You got tired of watching him leave? [Laughs and nods like he knows exactly what that means] Noel: We got there about three hundred miles down the road, and I popped out. And he said "Well..." [and gave] me a job. [He smiles again as everyone laughs]. Interviewer: Put you to work! Noel: Passed out programs, yeah. Interviewer: How old were you at that point? Noel: I was about eleven, yeah. Someone, possibly Marty: He's a stowaway. Noel: Yeah, you ain't leavin' me no more brother, I'm goin' with you.
