I totally agree with you in Bendysnoot cabbagepatch like I love Sherlock but no way in hell will I be watching his other movies. MY roomie loves him though and so I hear about him all the time.

right? i’ve got some rl friends im not that close with who are so far up his colon jesus. one of them was really excited about dr str*nge and gushing about how great it was that ben c and tilda were cast and all I did was frown and she nearly took my head off.

i s2g the tumblr darlings have the most protective fans and they’re willing to just ignore all the problematic things they do? like i’m not going to make you stop liking them, just at least admit that they have some flaws? and that weird thing they do when they go through ‘anti ___’ tags and randomly attack people? who is paying them? :DD

omg same :( :( :( my brother protonparker is the real doc strange fan in the fam and we were both like glued to the comic book movie news sources reading all the updates. like “oh it’s gotta be joaquin! someone saw him at a comic store!” and of course there were rumors about benedict too but we were both like “lol.. no… that… they wouldn’t actually cast him. no” and we had conversations like “ok but what if they do cast benedict? worst case scenario. will we have to stop liking doctor strange?” so yea you can guess how fucking upset and sad we were when the casting was announced. fucking god. the ANGRY TWEETS I WROTE. lord. i’m just so devestated thinking about seeing that hideous alien face on the big screen in 3d and big ass close ups like i DONT NEED THAT IN MY LIFE

besides being problematic himself, his show sherlock has a fandom that is notoriously problematic as well for a variety of reasons, though the first one that comes to mind is the hate towards lucy liu who plays watson in elementary. here’s some more info on that. the cast can’t be bothered to help stop the hate towards elementary; quite the opposite, really. benedict’s cast mate martin freeman, who recently joined marvel as well, was even more of a piece of shit regarding the issue.

of course most of the fandom stuff isn’t directly his fault, but his fans excusing what he’s done and acting like he’s some sort of god sure doesn’t help the opinion of him around here.
