Working in Costa, Brick Lane, Ben Hopper Exhibition
I love days where you feel productive, you leave work to go for a little walk and positivity and inspiration hits you from all corners and angles. That’s how I felt on this Saturday, from problem solving and illustrating for my showcase (June 11 and 12th btw!) to seeing inspiring artwork (more on that in a bit)
5 weeks until my first showcase! Not sure if it has sunk in yet. This week was spent finishing up the remaining illustrations, creating a wall mock up and file prepping them for print. It’s tough, man but I’ve always wished for the opportunity to showcase my artwork! So to ensure I remain productive for a good 8 hours, Costa is my go to place. I grab a caramel latte, maybe a Panini and it’s solid work from there (with small breaks of course lol) have a peep on my Instagram as I’ll be uploading sneak peeks of my work leading up the event!
Btw, the weather in London today was niiiiiiice, which means having a stroll through East London’s Brick Lane would sure to provide cool street vibes! And boy I was right. By chance, I walked past an exhibition which, damn, blew my mind.
When I entered, Ben Hopper, a photographer and artist kindly greeted me and I already felt a sense of awe from the first image I saw mounted perfectly onto the wall. I know writing about the exhibition is nowhere near going to represent the scale and quality of his work so it’s definitely a must see. Ben was really humble, friendly and of course talented. We even had similar glasses! (LOL moment)
His Transfiguration exhibition ends tomorrow! So if you are in the area and interested in photography and the human body, you can’t miss this! Link to his website is here.
