she let out a sigh as she leaned back in her chair, staring at the white blank wall in front of her next to the brown door. some of her colleagues recommended that she bring some artwork into the office. the suggestion wasn’t bad, she actually took a deep interest in it. it made her contemplate on what atmosphere she wanted to set. after all it was her space. she might as well make decorate it into her own little territory. she was scheduled to meet with the artist so they could discuss potential ideas. so far, she had a small succubus plant sitting at her desk next to her picture frame of her and alec. there was potential that had been yet to be unlocked.
however, her coworkers didn’t tell her who it was. the description sounded oddly familiar. long, luscious orange wavy hair with hazel eyes and a rather petite frame. there was someone that fit that exact description in her memory. yet she couldn’t recall her name or who she exactly was to her. it made her wonder if it were the same person. it irritated her when she could remember faces but not place names. what made it even worse was that the memories showed that she knew them to some degree, but what exactly? she couldn’t forget the dull ache in her chest at the realization that her own brother didn’t even recognize who she was. being forgotten was an agony that no words could express its staggering impact. especially from loved ones. a void left in her heart that couldn’t be filled, even if she remembered everything. what was the point if she couldn’t share them?
she blinked a few times when the door swung open and dark hues widened when glancing at the other woman. it was her. she sat up in her seat and tilted her head to the side. she wasn’t quite sure exactly how to go about this. what if the other had complete memories? “hey you!” she exclaimed, flashing a smile in an endeavor to mask the uncertainty she felt. “i didn’t know they sent you to help me out with the place. come and sit down.” she motioned her hand the two empty chairs in front of her desk on the opposite side. “so, have you come up with any ideas so far? i was thinking of having a beach painting but you’re the artist here.”
