puppy love

benny “the jet” rodriguez x reader (y/n) sleeps over at benny’s house and wakes up in the middle of the night to a pleasant surprise. [benny and (y/n) are dating]

   soft kisses were pressed against the back of your neck, and an arm was wrapped around your waist lovingly. benny nestled himself closely to you, humming the song “puppy love” into your nape. his breath tickled your neck.    you almost giggled at the moment. had you not been pretending to be asleep, you’d be peppering kisses all over benny’s face. he noticed your subtle change in breathing. and despite you being faced away from him, benny could see the way you smiled. you snapped your eyes shut once you felt him grasping your hand. silently grinning at his touch.    “are you awake, (y/n)?” benny laid kisses upon your palm.    “darling-sweetie-pie-sugar-poo-bear?” he laughed lightly as he intertwined your fingers with his. how could you ignore such an endearment? happily, you turned over, his hand never leaving yours.    “i’m awake, benny.” you chuckled. a smile spread across his face. he looked adorable.    “why’d you stop humming? i love that song.” you rested your forehead on his.     “although, i didn’t know you liked it too.”    “i guess you can say you’ve got an effect on me.” he replied, rubbing his nose against yours. it was terribly hard to resist kissing him. so you didn’t. benny was caught by surprise as you pressed several kisses upon his face. then finally, one on his lips.

   “you’re incredibly cute, did you know that?”

   “no, you just happen to mention it everyday.”

   “thought so.”

benny “the jet” rodriguez x reader (y/n) joins the sandlot boys’ sleepover in the tree house. [benny and (y/n) are dating]

   “hey (y/n)!”

   a smile stretched across your face after hearing your boyfriend’s voice.    “hey, benny.” you greeted affectionately. he jogged up to you and took your hand in his.    “the boys are having a sleepover at the treehouse, wanna come?” he asked.    “sure, i just gotta grab some stuff,” you pulled him as you walked,    “you should come with.”

   “okay, okay.”

   you rushed out of your house, in pajamas, with a duffle bag full of pillows and blankets.    “c’mon, lets go!” you grabbed benny’s hand and dragged him along—a common theme in your relationship. you and benny laughed the entire way, never letting go of each other’s hands. benny led you to the tree house, the boys inside whining about your presence.    “you brought (y/n)? c’mon man it’s supposed to be our night!”    benny rolled his eyes as the both of you climb up the ladder.    “ease up, blockheads.” he guided you towards the corner, where you laid out your pillows and blankets.    “who’s that?” some kid you didn’t know asks. you were gone on vacation for a week, so benny never got to tell you about this kid. you guessed it had just slipped his mind when you got back from your trip.    “oh yeah! you’ve never met (y/n).” ham realized, all the boys agreeing with him.     “benny and (y/n) have been going steady since last year.”    “yeah, yeah! i bet they make out everyday.”    “not true!”    “yeah, but you wish it was!”    you laughed loudly, causing stares to come your way.    “so, new kid. you got a name?” you wrapped your arm around benny’s shoulders, grinning at the new kid.    “scotty smalls.” he said, fiddling with his thumbs. you stepped over the others’ stuff and held out your hand. he gladly took it. then, you went to sit down on your little nest, pulling benny down with you.     “hey, cutie.”    “don’t call me that, it’s embarrassing.” he chuckled, playfully hitting your arm. you latch onto him like a koala,    “but you love it when i embarrass youuu.” benny rolled his eyes playfully, prying you off of him.    “get off of meeeee.” he dragged the last word, making fun of you. you laughed softly, guiding yourself to his back. wrapping an arm around his neck, you pretend to choke him.    “you’re gonna have to drag me off of you” benny chuckled, and played along. you both wrestled for a bit, trying not to move too much since it was a confined space. the little fight eventually ended in cuddles and giggles.    “okay. quiet, you guys.” everyone kept talking.    “quiet! are you trying to wake it up? it just went to bed.”     “what just went to bed?”     “shhhhh!”    “the beast.”    “oh yeah!”    “shhhhhhh!”    “jeez”    “dang”    squints hushed everyone, then proceeded to tell the supposedly real story about “the beast”. you scoffed light-heartedly. you knew the story wasn’t true—you talk to mr. mertle and play with hercules sometimes, but you didn’t wanna ruin their fun.    leaning your head against benny’s chest, you squeezed his hand. you smirked at him. in a way, you were taunting him. benny tried to act tough. god, he’s adorable.    “do you really believe it?” you whispered.    “of course i do, how could you not?” benny reasoned.    suddenly the candles were blown out, and you were left with simple eye contact with your boyfriend. you let out an airy laugh before giving him a peck on the lips and tucking yourself in.    you felt benny wrap his arms around your waist and pull you close.

   your eyes fluttered open, the feeling of benny long gone. it was still dark outside… propping yourself up, you lazily leaned on your forearm. benny was probably out on the grass. it seemed like he took some blankets too.    “is it that hot in there?” you smiled, climbing down the ladder to see benny stargazing on the grass. he scooted over to give you space    “yeah, it’s pretty stuffy.” he slung his arm over your shoulder. you tiredly leaned your head on his shoulder. to which he leaned his on your head. the next few minutes were comfortable silence—the faint sound of the wind lulling you to sleep.

   “GROSS, GUYS! YOU COULDN’T WAIT ‘TIL LATER??”

   “OH (Y/N), MY DARLING LOVER! KISS ME!”

   “shut it!”

benny “the jet” rodriguez x fem! basketball player! reader someone mentions (y/n) being really good playing ball and benny overhears, but it turns out it was another kind of ball. [let’s pretend it’s the 1990s]

   “hey! (y/n), is it?” you were walking home when you hear someone call out to you. it was a boy, dodgers cap, dark hair, around your age, pretty tall, and cute. really cute.   “yeah, why?” you ask clutching your backpack. you probably shouldn’t have answered so hastily. you had just moved in with your grandparents last month and you didn’t wanna die that quick.   “i heard from a few girls on the block that you’re good at ball, and i was wondering if wanted to play with me and my friends?” he stuck out his hand. you assumed he was asking for a handshake, but it seemed as if he just didn’t know where to put his hands. you reluctantly took his hand,   “what’s your name?”   “benny. benny rodriguez.”   “you got a ball?”   “yeah.”   “alright then.”

  you almost cackled when you saw the sandlot. that's what he meant by playing ball! no wonder he was wearing a dodgers cap. benny noticed you stifling a laugh.   “what’s wrong? you think you’re too good for the sandlot?”   “no, that’s not it. i just thought you meant basketball.” you finally let out a laugh,   “i have no idea how to play baseball!” benny’s face flushed slightly as his friends walked over.   “what’s the hold up! we gonna start or what?” one of the kids said.   “who’s this?”   “oooh, benny is this your girlfriend?”   “she isn’t my girlfriend! and i just brought her over here to play ball.”   “a girl?!”   “are you out of your mind?”   you decided to say something amidst the chaos.   “the name’s (y/n), and there’s been a mix up here. i play basketball, not baseball.”   “aw c’mon benny! you brought her over for nothing!” benny rolled his eyes at his teammates and took a spare glove out of his back pocket. he held it out to you.   “do you wanna learn?” he offered.   “no harm in trying, i guess.” you grinned, swiping it.

  no doubt about it, you were a natural. it took some getting used to, but you were pretty well-rounded. good with catching, throwing, batting, but terrible with rules.   “what do you mean i can’t do that?!” you were a bit confused, but that’s okay.   “i gotta go guys, my grandma’s gonna kill me if i don’t get home in time for dinner.” you joked, tossing benny the glove you borrowed. instead, he tossed it back to you.   “keep it. i’ll walk you home.”   “ooohhh benny, what’s next? are you gonna give her your—“   “shut it, squints!” you chuckled a bit and started jogging away, benny following after you.   “sorry about that,” he says,   “i don’t think they’ve ever talked to a girl thats not their mother.” you snorted unexpectedly, quickly slapping a hand on your mouth right after.    “oh my god.” you mumbled, embarrassed. benny smiled, but he didn’t say anything. to you, that meant he was mocking you, which embarrassed you even more. to him, he found it adorable, the way you laughed. you’d never know that though.   on the way home, you guys talked and got to know each other more. as cheesy as it is, you really wanted to date him. he was just so… amazing. you’d never admit to falling in love this fast, but you wanted tell him so bad.   “this is me” you pointed out, walking onto your driveway.   “alright,” he murmured softly, stopping where he stood.   “bye! see you tomorrow maybe?” he waved at you. with his stupid goofy smile

  you ran towards him and awkwardly grabbed his hand, kissing his knuckles. you internally scolded yourself for not kissing his cheek. he laughed it off, doing it back to you. god, he was adorable. you grabbed his hand again, this time keeping it.   “i’ll come by tomorrow, but maybe we could stop by an amusement park sometime? together. alone?”   “of course.”
