it’s just like. i’m a chronic quitter, and there’s a lot of things that i can’t/won’t ever get good at bc it’s too unpleasant being bad at them before i can become good at them.

but pottery,,, today i threw a 4lb planter. before like 2 weeks ago, i had never thrown more than 2.5lbs. 4lbs is the most i’ve ever thrown. so i’m still not very good with these larger (for me) weights. well i finished that planter and it looks rly nice and i’m excited to trim it!! and the clay is also not well utilized, there’s a lot of excess weight at the bottom. it could be a lot bigger for being 4lbs.

but even so!!! i see that, and i see the clay not being well used, and i get so fucking excited for the day that i can utilize all that extra clay. i can’t wait to see how big i’ll be able to make a 4lb planter in the future.

it’s just like. okay lowkey but that sort of feeling/mentality is life changing. like. again, chronic quitter. to see my current lack of skill and be filled of thoughts of my certain future improvements and mastery is just. not how things normally happen for me. like fuck!! i did good today!!! and next year at the end of december i’m gonna throw the same shape with 4lbs and im just so so excited to see how much better i do then. so uh. yeah pottery is life. for meeeee

ive had a really good two days at my craft markets!! ☺️😭 it feels sooo good to accomplish the real goal of the whole “having a pottery business” thing
