Varsity Tennis...
So tomorrow we are playing Archer High School for an exhibition match...
and they bumped me up to 3rd singles.
i was 1st doubles.
but don't think i'm not flattered!
but well. i've only been playing tennis for a month.
and well.
i've never really played singles before?
i've done drills but nobody has ever wanted to play me play me before.
so yeah.
i'm nervous.
man, berkmar is so diverse.
i wonder what it will feel like leaving it.
i wonder how i would cope.
if i went to an all asian school like tech.
or a white school with questbridge or something.
i just don't get how this country could be so white.
i really can't.
i've been around so much color that i never saw the white background behind the picture.
politics and demographics and education.
how does it all tie in?
it's hard to think of it.
well i hope i can cope when i experience it.
in gov.
we've been talking about the comparison of the minority to the majority.
the majority is white people.
and it's hard for me to realize how segregated the US is outside of Berkmar, outside of Lawrenceville, outside of Atlanta/New York/urban life.
we are so diverse.
and as i look from face to face across the room, there are only a few pale faced people in the room, both being half hispanic.
i don't want to leave this.
senior t-shirts.
well we have these senior t-shirts and this year, the student body got to design them.
well... i sent a design in.
and it got picked as a top 5 choice.
and its number one now.
and we are ordering them on the 18th.
and we are going to wear them on the first day of school.
HOLY FUCK I NEVER GET PICKED FOR ANYTHING.
