‘The Other Side Of Hope’ Is The Aki Kaurismäki Movie We Need Right Now [Berlin Review]

If there is one thing Berlin has that London so miserably lacks is space. Berlin seems to have buckets of space. Five Elephant - A Coffee Review
3/5
Located on Reichenberger Str. Near Görlitzer Park, 5 elephants has an attractive front which spills out onto the street, and was pleasantly busy for a Friday morning when I visited. The wooden interior was welcoming and the layout (laptops only in the back) was peaceful and calming. The staff were, unsurprisingly, cool and seemed to be from all over the world. I think my coffee was made by a new recruit; she seemed nervous and though the espresso was sweet, the milk wasn’t perfectly smooth and sat pretty heavy at the top of the drink for a cortado. It’s funny the level of perfection we have come to expect from our baristas these days! I was a bit annoyed to be told when my coffee came that there was no Wi-Fi, almost as if I were a heathen for asking…perhaps this coloured my critique of a pretty well made cortado! Apparently this is common in Neukölln/Friedrichshain – the lesson is obviously ask before you order!
Summary: I would definitely come back with a book to enjoy the calm atmosphere and read.
