soon a rain of blood, the likes of which you cannot imagine, shall fall down upon you. it will be a storm of death. but take heed, struggler - struggle, endure, contend. for that alone is the sword of one who defies death.
More berserk stuff (beware the hyper fixation)
I attended Dariusz Kieliszek’s lectures on concept art composition yesterday and pulled this thingy out of em
“The sun hasn't set yet. .”
I feel like I don’t talk about Falonia Griffith enough but the more I think of it that’s exactly what I feel about Griffith post golden age. There’s nothing left to his name in my mind, obviously he lost everything that made him human but to me it pulls away from so much of what I do like about Griffith and it’s just not as an interesting character to me.
The eclipse is single handedly the most traumatic event to have happened in Berserk no doubts about it and that will forever haunt Guts and Casca and everyone that’s around them to a degree but psychically and mentally and Griffith just gets to walk away with nothing. Like actually nothing to him the most traumatic experience of Griffith is the torture that he went through and that haunts nobody, upon rebirth he doesn’t feel or experience emotions. His torture was solely his own experience, the king won’t care what he did, Charlottes unlikely to be able to comprehend what had happened, and that torture that ruined and changed everything in the universe is just his own and it’s lost when he’s born again. Griffith’s torture ripped away everything from him and leaves him as nothing, he loses his friends, his anatomy, his life is destroyed completely by this and yet it does nothing to effect him fully in my opinion. I posted a while back about how I saw the eclipse as a possible suicide thing and that makes me feel even more strongly about how truly awful it is of what happened and why he was not a completely heartless person throughout the whole golden age like some say. I understand that he reached his goal and gets his one wish but I also lose a lot of my interest in him when he is nothing, it’s not pycshically he is nothing because he’s still Griffith but a huge part that makes Griffith Griffith is his spirit and soul that’s just lost within the torture and I don’t think that can ever be recovered to me. I still love him as a character but I also think he was stripped of everything he ever was and it makes me so so sick.
I love him so much gang this is my cope 🥀
