Debt by Nina G. Jones —Top Reads Published in 2014 —Interview
I don’t know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it. It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over. Except that it wasn’t. Because I had been in danger long before I ever invited it into my life. ———————My mission is almost complete. The bubbling boil of vengeance that heats my blood might finally simmer. She is the last piece of the puzzle. Once I destroy her, everyone who ever hurt me will have paid their debt. It was supposed to be quick and easy, but as soon as I met her it got complicated. Very complicated.
How did the idea for this book first come to you?
I was joking with a friend about how we love some book boyfriends that would terrify us in real life. Then the conversation somehow turned to me asking: what if there was a service where you could order someone to basically rape you. Because, let's be honest, most dark erotica has a rape-y element to it. That concept of taking a fantasy that most would not actually want to become a reality, but creating a character who wanted to take that leap and then what would become of her.
Did you know how you wanted it all to go from the beginning or did it change as you were writing?
I usually outline important events that I want to occur (especially with a complex plot). However, a lot of twists occur to me as I write and I might adjust the timeline accordingly. Usually, by the time I am writing the middle, I know everything that needs to occur and have it outlined somewhere.
Are you currently working on anything? If so can you tell us about it?
Yes. I am working on a new adult romance called, IF. It will be written under N.G. Jones, a version of my pen name to indicate that this will not be erotica (it might have some sex, but it will not be central to the plot).
I made a sarcastic comment a year ago about people who complained about rich heroes in romance. Something along the lines of: Next time, I'll write about the young ingenue who falls in love with the homeless guy in front of her building.
Well the joke is now becoming a reality. That's all I can say.

Drew from Tied by Emma Chase —Top Book Boyfriends From Books Published in 2014 —Interview
In the fourth sexy romance by the New York Times bestselling author of Tangled and Twisted, Drew and Kate can’t wait to tie the knot—if they can survive the pre-wedding festivities. For most of my life, I never imagined I’d get married. But Kate did the impossible: she changed me. I think we can all agree I was pretty frigging awesome before, but now I’m even better. The road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners. There were mistakes and misunderstandings worthy of a Greek tragedy. But Kate and I made it through with our inexhaustible lust, boundless admiration, and everlasting love for one another intact. That being said, there were some unexpected incidents in Vegas last weekend that could have been a problem. It was kind of... my final test.I know what you’re thinking—what the hell did you do this time? Relax. Let’s not judge, or call for my castration, until you've heard the whole story. And hold on tight, because you’re in for a wild ride. Did you expect anything less?
~My favorite Drew quote from Tied.~
"Because I would never let her go, Matthew. Ever. No matter what happened—no matter what I did, I'd keep hoping, trying, until she came back to me."
Character Interview: Drew
Favorites:
Band— Metallica
City— New York
Car— Aston Martin
Cooking or Cleaning?
Neither. But if Kate is naked, I'll happily watch her do both.
Art or Science?
Really? One of these things actually makes a difference in the survival of our species - the other doesn't. So...science.
Sky Diving or Deep Sea Diving?
I believe the only reason someone should jump out of a plane is if it's fucking crashing. Any thing else is just daring God to call your bluff. Deep Sea Diving.
How is being in a relationship better than being single?
Being single is like eating at an exclusive restaurant - the menu changes - you never know what your options are going to be. Which isn't a bad thing, but...you have to wait for your food to come out, deal with the waiter and hope your meal will be satisfying.
Being in a relationship is like an all-you-can-eat buffet of your favorite foods. You can go back for seconds, thirds - as often as you like, with no waiting. And you know without a doubt, you're going to enjoy every fucking morsel.
Have you ever fed a homeless person?
Yes.
Have you ever ate from a hot dog stand?
I grew up in New York - absolutely.
Emma interview—
What project are you currently working on? Can you tell us about it or give any teasers?
I'm currently working on edits for book #1 in my new Legal Briefs Series, Overruled. I have fallen head over heels for Stanton Shaw and can't wait to share his story with you!!
"But — here’s the most important thing: whenever possible, you want to show them a good time. Give them something to watch. They’re hoping for a live reenactment of Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men. The system may be boring but you don’t have to be. You can be entertaining. Show them you’ve got a big swinging dick and you’re not afraid to use it.
My dick is the swingingest of them all—juries can’t take their eyes off it."
Thank you!!

Transcendence by Shay Savage —Top Reads Published in 2014 —Interview
It’s said that women and men are from two different planets when it comes to communication, but how can they overcome the obstacles of prehistoric times when one of them simply doesn’t have the ability to comprehend language?Ehd’s a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He’s strong and intelligent, but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful young woman in his pit trap, it’s obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. He doesn’t know where she came from; she’s wearing some pretty odd clothing, and she makes a lot of noises with her mouth that give him a headache. Still, he’s determined to fulfill his purpose in life – provide for her, protect her, and put a baby in her.Elizabeth doesn’t know where she is or exactly how she got there. She’s confused and distressed by her predicament, and there’s a caveman hauling her back to his cavehome. She’s not at all interested in Ehd’s primitive advances, and she just can’t seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive, but beautiful, man is a constant – and often hilarious – struggle. With only each other for company, they must rely on one another to fight the dangers of the wild and prepare for the winter months. As they struggle to coexist, theirs becomes a love story that transcends language and time.
Do you have any deleted scenes you could share? If I did cut anything, I didn’t save it. I don’t remember removing anything significant. Ehd is very different from the usual male lead. How did you ever think of him? I would always hear people talking about book boyfriends being cavemen. It made me wonder if there were any stories about actual cavemen. When I couldn’t find any, I wrote one. When writing Transcendence did you use any special strategies different from when you usually write? I’m not sure if anything I did was particularly unique when writing, but trying to keep things moving and interesting without any dialogue was certainly a challenge. I wrote a little bit of it every day, and spent a lot of time trying to understand how a caveman would think, feel, and react to a given situation. Ehd’s a very intelligent guy, and I wanted to make sure that still came across despite his inability to communicate with words. Describing body language became very important as well. Out of all of your books, do you have a favorite story and character? Evan Arden is my favorite character I have developed. He’s wonderfully messed up, and a lot of fun to write about. You often write from the POV of the male lead instead of the female. What made you decide to go that route? I tend to identify with men more than women. It also gives me a bit of an edge, since erotica is primarily written by women and from the heroine’s point of view. Readers seem to like stories that are a little different from the norm, and I try to provide that. Are you currently working on anything? Can you tell us about it if so? I’ve been hopping back and forth between a couple of different things lately, trying to figure out what will be next. I do have a lot planned for 2015, including brand new stories with new characters, and very likely some more about Evan Arden’s life. Anything extra that you want to add? I’m constantly amazed by how well Transcendence has been received. It’s so out there – so different from your usual erotic or romantic tale. I really enjoyed writing about Ehd and Beh, and I’m thrilled so many people have enjoyed it! Thanks a lot for talking with me! Happy New Year to all!

Roan from Destroyed by Pepper Winters —Top Book Boyfriends From Books Published in 2014 —Interview
She has a secret.I’m complicated. Not broken or ruined or running from a past I can’t face. Just complicated. I thought my life couldn’t get any more tangled in deceit and confusion. But I hadn’t met him. I hadn't realized how far I could fall or what I'd do to get free. He has a secret.I’ve never pretended to be good or deserving. I chase who I want, do what I want, act how I want.I didn’t have time to lust after a woman I had no right to lust after. I told myself to shut up and stay hidden. But then she tried to run. I’d tasted what she could offer me and damned if I would let her go.One secret destroys them.
~A favorite quote from Roan~ Hours inched past as I toyed with metal and fire and sweat. Working with such unforgiving materials was a reminder that no matter how set in stone we seemed, we could always change. We could mould and adapt and become something new, even a hunk of iron. I had to hold faith. I could change. Over time.
—Character Interview: Roan
Favorites: Band—Really like the vibe from Imagine Dragons Book—Don't really read...too busy with Obsidian. Sport—Fighting for sure. I'm good with my fists.
Drawing or Building? Sculpting. I love to mould bronze into whatever I want. Sailing or Hang Gliding? Neither. Way too flimsy. Talking or Listening? Listening. No one wants to listen to what I've lived through.
What is he most dangerous job for a man? What I was made to do in my former life. Obey a master over his own life.
Is it ever okay to give up? No, never.
Have you ever been to Disney World? I'd never be able to go to a place with so many people.
