David has Killian at the end of his sword, and backs him up against a deadly thicket of Dreamshade. With death at either end, Killian confesses to his ruse to get David up the mountain to save his life.

At the End of David’s Sword in episode 3x05 “Good Form”

Prince Charming surprises Killian at the top of Dead Man’s Peak by pulling out his sword on him. Turns out David heard Hook talking to Peter Pan and isn’t about to give him the chance to do Pan’s bidding.

Just this “blink and you’ll miss it” exchange of looks as David’s spinning his tale about how Hook saved him from Lost Boys in the jungle. “Well, he’s full of shit. What about you, Captain?” “No, sorry, this is apparently my shit now, too.”

Struggling with Dave in episode 3x05 “Good Form”

David’s not doing so well, thanks to the Dreamshade poison that’s moving ever closer to his heart and killing him slowly. Hook has to struggle to keep him from falling face first into the dirt multiple times, because David is also stubborn as hell and refuses to stop launching himself everywhere.

Choked by David in episode 2x13 “Tiny”

After making one too many quips for Dave’s tastes, Hook finds himself getting choked by Dave, who demands he tell them whatever he knows about Cora’s plans. He insists he knows nothing, but offers Snow a key to unlock the cage Anton is being kept in, so they can ask the giant what he knows.

Accepting the Blame in episode 3x05 “Good Form”

After Dave reminds Hook that all the terrible things that have happened are all ultimately the result of Hook stealing the magic bean in the first place, Hook doesn’t argue at all. “Fair point,” he admits.

Fighting with Dave in episode 3x01 “The Heart of the Truest Believer”

When Mary Margaret and Regina’s argument starts coming to blows, David rushes to break the two of them up. Hook grabs him and says, “Let the slags go! I need you at the helm!” “Don’t call my wife a slag!” Charming growls back - and now the two ladies aren’t the only ones brawling on the Jolly Roger.

Even though I reblogged that post (twice), I do actually disagree with one thing: Dave besting Killian with the lighter had nothing to do with showing him up in regards to his disability. If anything, having a steel hook for a hand would be a help (and not a hindrance) in lighting a fire with flint and steel.

It wasn’t Dave’s two hands that showed Killian up in that instance. It was the modern convenience of a lighter. Dave opening the door the way he did definitely highlighted Killian’s disadvantages having only one hand, but Dave lighting the torch highlighted his disadvantages as a man from a bygone era.

Ultimately, both things ARE seen (by Killian) as demonstrating his unfitness as a romantic partner for a strong, independent, modern lady like Emma... but for two very different reasons.
