admittedly TBK was not just my first Dostoevsky but my first, like, actual attempt at reading a 19th C Russian novel. I just got my ass resolutely handed to me. if u dont know how to read those kinds of books then ur just gonna cry.

i think Paul Dano’s pierre is so perfectly soft and gentle and loving... but i agree, i think Josh kind of captures the ruggedness more, the depression spiral. interesting. big tea.
