It's so insane to actually play the leaked early Zelda 64 beta maps, because the realisation hits very quickly that this is the most first-draft prototype shit imaginable, and quite possibly by people learning 3D for the very first time. And yet the final game was a masterpiece that still holds up 25 years later. Pictured here is Kakariko village. Which would eventually look like this:
