Vixen Statement
“It is with a heavy heart that Vixen addresses the needless taking of two of our employees’ lives. We want to extend or deepest condolences to the families of Mei Wang and Bethany Bloom. Both girls were full of life and filled with dreams and ambition with a glimmer of a bright future in their eyes. They will be greatly missed among our employees and between me and co-owner Cecelia Hathaway. We also want to thank those loyal to us for helping support us through such a difficult time.
“Before we continue, we would like to extend both the wishes of our dancers and the families of Mei and Bethany that reporters give them the space needed to grieve and mourn in peace. Peace is what is needed in this time of chaos and we expect you to understand that. If the press has any questions or concerns, you can contact me via phone. Badgering families, friends and fellow employees will not be tolerated.
“Now, I would like to address the safety of Vixen employees. Since its opening, Vixen has never seen such violence against employees. The senseless act that led to the passing of two of our beloved girls is beyond brazen and inexcusable. I vowed to protect these girls and I’ve failed. Therefore, security measure at the club will be slightly more constricting, but there will be several new security measures for our employees. This reprehensible act of violence against women will not be tolerated by me or any of our staff.
“We patiently await the findings of the Launceston Police Department and other investigators and ask that you keep the Wang and Bloom families in your thoughts during this time of loss.”
