Lego TVs?
At the CES 2016 in Las Vegas earlier this year, Samsung had the technophiles completely floored. Anyone who ever played with Legos now can see their dreams coming true. Yes, if Samsung has its way, you will soon be able to stack up your TV just like a Lego block, and enjoy it any way you like. This might sound like something out of a futuristic movie, but this technology is here! Now! But, this TV is not here to just fulfil your childhood Lego fantasy. Samsung intends to achieve a host of things with this TV. And no, the adage – kill two birds with one shot – does not apply here, simply because Samsung is killing here at least half a dozen birds…err…features or technologies with this single masterstroke.
Samsung Killed Bezels
For as long as we have had televisions, bezels have always been something that we resented. In case you don’t know, bezels are those regions of a TV’s face, which are not covered by the screen. For long, we have come to accept the fact that the bezels are here to say. Many manufacturers have tried to make them as thin as possible, and have had some success with it. But now, Samsung intends to bid adieu to those spaces that serve no practical use to the viewer. The stackable TV will not have any ‘noticeable bezels. Not our use of the word ‘noticeable’ here. Although the company claims that it has created a bezel-free TV, that is not the whole truth. But, it has come very close to doing that. The bezels on its latest stackable TV are so small that you may not even notice them. It’s true, it looks like the pictures are just hanging in the air over there, without any support.
