Kazuya is 18. Jin is 20, they meet in school.

For all the television and movie dramatisations painting happy and dramatic colours of romantic relationships, their first meeting is almost anti-climatically simple. Instead, it is far from a climatic scene framed by falling cherry blossoms or winds caressing silken threads of hair and there are no strings of coincidences or strange happenings converging to form "one big moment" either.

It is real life, and real life isn't a movie. There aren't any cinematics to clue the audience or the characters their future or even the band of people that will grow to become something special to them. There are also no self-imposed time limit for the protagonists to come to know each other or to reach the climax and the denouement of their story till its time for the credits to roll.

It isn't till 5 weeks later that they finally manage a proper conversation.
