Today I told @naystillcareee that everybody is trash. That’s my motto in life lately. Which is crazy because my work is around “Authority.” How imma say I’m the authority and readily admit to being T R A S H? 🤷🏾♀️ . . . Some folk know the story about this Bodysuit. I bought some samples. Got letters from Walmart. Ironed them on. Made this prototype. Set up my iPad. Had some $1 fabric as the background. Propped up my camera and took some photos. Presold for a month. Sold 10. Tagged @erykahbadu in every single one. She liked and commented on a few on A Sunday around noon. I went to sleep. Woke up around 3am to go to the restroom. Had thousands of likes, 100+ orders and hundreds of new followers. I was paralyzed. The place I got the samples from didn’t have enough red bodysuits. I had 100s of preorders and no bodysuits. Just this little prototype. 🤢 I was sick. . . . Y’all thought I was popping cause Erykah posted my Bodysuit on her page. Meanwhile I never enjoyed the moment because I was over here being T R A S H tryna figure it out. Just tryna freaking figure it out! . . . This is a lesson I’m failing forward. You can’t win if you never begin. I was fumbling in the dark but my decision to leap opened up huge doors for me and my business hasn’t been the same since. . . .
