Summary: Luciana-Lee Fernandez was born into a poor part of America—the Midwest where trailer parks were all she knew—and what came to love. Lucy loved exploring it was her hobby, she hated everybody—almost. A young girl named ‘Maria Williams’ stepped almost forcefully into her life (definitely forcefully but Lucy soon got over it.) they met life problems together. Lucy saved Maria from her darkest times—she thought that was the roughest of it. Little did they know what lurked just behind the trees. What was such a small problem became Lucianas and Maria’s darkest—deepest nightmare. Loss of control. Step into lucianas shoes and find out why she is americas most wanted.
Tw: suicide mention, SH, murder.
Lucy was always alone, not a friend to call her own. She would spend her days drawing away, even as a little kid she would draw stick figures and call them her best piece every time. Her mother used to hang up her drawing’s on the fridge with tiny little magnets from their worldwide trips.
However…that was a good few years ago. Luciana is now 14, her birthday had been around 4-5 months ago. She felt fresh, happy, excited to finally be past the 13 curse, you know? Not being able to watch violent movies and films? Anyways.
Lucy found some new…questionable hobbies that could’ve landed her in jail if she wasn’t careful enough—URBAN EXPLORATION. She also enjoyed the occasional smoke of stolen cigarettes, in her head? —stolen stuff tasted better.
This morning on JULY 21st 2009 wasn’t any different. Wake up, stare at the ceiling for god knows how long, finally get up, brush her teeth, brush her hair, put on clothes she recklessly threw on her bedroom floor and…disappear for the rest of the day. Lucy’s parents never noticed too indulged in the newest newspaper and as her mom once said “catching up with the girlfriends” …so they never noticed Lucy went. They just knew she would appear at the diner table at noon.
Her favourite abandoned location was far from her house, far from society rather. Past acres of fields and thick grass that she would always run past afraid something would grab her ankles from beneath if she slowed her pace down even a little bit. The abandoned location was FILLED with patrol officers, she would have to use her sneak abilities well, the same sneak abilities she used to steal snacks at night…among other things. She would also almost trip at how many vines were on the floor, she did once—trip over the vines…but she doesn’t like talking about it..
The abandoned location was an old, rusty, rundown hotel. Why was there patrol officers? Well crimes—A LOT of crimes happened within the building, hence why Lucy brought her trusty…kitchen knife.
Lucy wasn’t rather…the smartest out of the bunch, she just did what felt right, felt normal. She sat cross-legged on a windowsill with a smashed window on the top floor she knew patrol officers wouldn’t see her from here maybe thats it’s her ‘safe haven’. Here? She could breathe, could reflect on her life. There was no judgement here, no one to pick on her because let’s be honest…nobody came here…hell nobody dared to step foot in this forest that surrounded the hotel.
Kids…teenagers, hell even adults went missing here AT LEAST every month, the cops can’t explain it, it’s like they just…POOF within thin air, never to be seen again. No traces or clues on their whereabouts, like they were never on earth at all.
Just as Lucy got ready to leave she heard it. A rustle of clothing. If she wasn’t so good at hearing she would’ve missed it.
She turned around slowly only to be met with a wall…and an eerily dark corner behind it. Out of habit she reached into her jacket pocket to grab her knife. She walked slowly, almost like when a cat sees a mouse—maybe thats the best way to explain it. She held her breath listening out to the sounds…she heard…breathing—almost panicked, she turned the corner with practiced ease as she pinned someone to the wall, the blade cold and threatening to the persons neck.
Luciana paused—just for a second before stepped back
“Are you gonna kill me?” The girl spoke quietly yet it had a hint of cockiness to it, the girl put her hand to her heart as she caught her breath.
“No.” Lucy replied, speaking for her felt foreign, like her voice wasn’t hers.
“Good” the girl let out a breathless chuckle, her tense shoulders finally relaxing “I’d like to keep my head in tacked thanks very much, charming offer though.”
Why was this girl so keen on keeping the conversation when Luciana clearly didn’t want to? Lucy took an uncomfortable step back as she put her knife back in her pocket. Luciana began to walk—walk away, she wanted to leave. However, the girl trailed behind her. Lucy let out a gruff sigh as she kept her gaze straight, it wasn’t long before they were out of the hotel, the forest.
The girl still followed, it got on Lucy’s nerves so she finally turned around her hands in her pockets.
“why are you following me? Lost your way or something?”
The girl laughed and shook her head “no you just look lonely, and I can tell you haven’t socialised enough.” The girl raised her eyebrows as she rocked back and forth on her heels.
“I was doing just fine actually.” Luciana argued as she stared at the girl standing just mere inches away from her.
“doesn’t seem like it.” She grumbled as she kicked a rock beneath her feet. “Well I AM doing fine okay? Now run along back home im sure your dearest mother is waiting for you back at home to do a lesson of how to play golf.” Luciana looked up and down at the girl, only reason she said this was because this girl was CLEARLY wearing designer.
Luciana turned back around as she continued walking but paused when she heard—“my mom is dead.” She turned back around and stared at her for a while too long…
Even Luciana was shocked on what she said…god why did she say that…she bowed her head as she continued walking, she could see the sheer shock on the girls face…kinda hurt her a little but why? Why should she care right…?
It had been 2 weeks since Lucy met that strange girl, she kept on reflecting on her actions…on her temper, she felt…bad? So bad that an old habit came back—biting her skin, she chewed at her hand and fingers until they bled.
Lucy sighed as she leaned back on her bed she stared up at the ceiling. She had almost drifted off of her brother—Levi didn’t enter.
“You holding up alrigh-“ he looked down at her hand. “Lulu are you fucking serious?”
“Okay i know! I know, jesus im sorry okay? Fuck.” Luciana sat up as she put her knees up to her chest. Levi sat on the edge of her bed. “Don’t do that corny thing when you tell me everything is gonna be okay-“ she was interrupted.
“What happened?” Levi blurted out in a hurry. “Wha-…huh?” Lucy replied. “What happened.” He said, more sternly this time.
Lucy sighed as she ran her hands through her brown hair. “I met this girl…like what? 2 weeks ago-“ “surprising”
“Shut up? So…anyways, yeah I met this girl. Don’t know her name so do not ask…I’ll just cut a long story short…she followed me back to the neighbourhood and…you know…she pissed me off? And with reason like why are you following me…” she cleared her throat “i said something along the lines of ‘go back to your mother’ right? Harmless little…remark I guess? Well…not really…Uhm…her mother is dead apparently and I said ‘not my problem’” at the last part Lucy cringed as she picked at the skin on her hands yet again to where Levi slapped her hand to get her to stop
“Well thats shitty, isn’t it now?” Levi scoffed “FUCK! I know and I feel terrible dude…” Lucy gulped as she put her face in her hands…”don’t need to make me feel worse about it…dickhead.”
“Hey? Im just saying the truth. Real, real shitty move, I suggest you find her again and bring her flowers or whatever you lesbians do-“
“Lesbians?” Luciana looked up at Levi “I’m not a lesbian.” She protested. “Kay so why do you have so many pictures of tits on your walls?” He snorted.
“Thats a musical by the way and I’ll have you know it is my favourite, doesn’t mean im a lesbian because I have their very questionable merchandise on my walls.” Lucy murmured. “Alright.” Levi shrugged as he stood up “god why does it smell so bad in here?” Levi cringed.
“Haven’t…been doing my laundry…” lucy confessed. “Been too busy with homework and stuff and-“
“You don’t even show up to school anymore, lu. Don’t give me that bullshit.” Levi cursed. Lucy huffed “just get out then if it’s such an issue.” “Oh I will, see ya.” And with that Levi opened the bedroom door before shutting it. Just when lucy thought she was alone he cracked it open again. “Oh and dinner is done in 10.” He said with a cocky smile “GET OUT!” Lucy screamed as she threw a hoodie at him that only missed him because he shut the door.
“Fuckin idiot…telling me what to do…” lucy scoffed as she folded her arms and laid back on her bed.
Lucy made her way down the hallway of her small cramped trailer as she grabbed her portion of food and slapped it on an antique bowl with a satisfied grin, just as she went to go back upstairs her mom called her name. “No no. Sit at the table like everybody else, young lady.” Her mother said. “Seriously? I don’t want to-“ “sit.” She demanded pulling out a chair with her heel. Lucy mumbled something before sitting down.
“So you wanna tell me why your grades are going down?” She stated, lucy paused mid bite before looking at her “you seriously haven’t noticed, ma? I haven’t been going to school at all.” Lucy swallowed her bite “bullying got too much again. Couldn’t handle it.”
“Well thats not up to you now is it?” Her mother retorted “you are 14, luciana-lee. You are a teenager not an adult, you can make these stupid decisions when you are up and out of my house.”
“Well you never notice anyways.” Lucy mumbled. “Hm?” Her mother questioned. “I said you never notice anyways.” Lucy said but louder this time. “I never notice? Mkay.” She rolled her eyes. Her mother was childish. Always was…lucy could never tell if her mother actually even cared.
Lucy’s appetite slowly started to disintegrate as she put her fork down “I’m full.” She said blankly as she stood up and walked out of the kitchen and back down the hallwwy.
“You are grounded by the way until you do your laundry!” Her mother shouted. Lucy froze mid step before storming away like a toddler having a tantrum.
Lucy was angry, she paced around her room like a caged animal—in her head she was. Soon she snuck out like she always does, she made her way down the darkened neighbourhood, hands in pockets and hood up. She had grabbed some loose cash from her bedside table as she made her way to a convenience store.
She stepped inside the door slamming shut as she scanned the drink isle. She picked a regular Pepsi and a bag of chips. Left the store with 2 bars of chocolate and a lighter stuffed in her pocket…and of course the things she actually paid for.
She went to the car park just infront of the forest she had grown to love. She sat on a cargo bed of an out-of-use looking truck as she began to smoke, her legs dangled off the truck as she took a sip of her Pepsi.
It wasn’t long before a group of teenagers probably her age appeared, yet they paid Luciana no mind…till one did.
Luciana couldn’t make it out till she was standing infront of her. “Why you sitting here alone?” —it was the girl from 2 weeks ago.
“I dunno” Lucy murmured as she looked at the floor. “You want some company?” The girl asked placing her hand next to Lucy’s leg as she tilted her head to look at her. “Not really.” Lucy scoffed “like i said im doing fine alone, yeah? So go back to your friends.”
“They aren’t my friends, just people I tagged along with” “oh so you don’t only follow me huh?” Lucy snapped. “Im still waiting for my apology you know.” The girl sniffed “apology-? What? Apology for what? I don’t know you.”
“You know, I just want friends. I don’t mean to come off as…strange. I just want friends and what you said to me that day affected me bad.” The girl replied back, she had a hint of lingering sadness in her tone, Lucy could almost taste it.
“Okay, fuck me….im sorry okay? There im sorry.” What a weak attempt at an apology. The girl didn’t seem to hold grudges because she just climbed onto the cargo and sat next to Lucy “my name is maria, maria Williams. You?” Maria smiled. There was a long pause before Luciana mumbled “…luciana…” “huh?” “Luciana” Lucy said more loudly. “Luciana? Thats a pretty name” maria grinned. “Do people call you Lucy for short then-?”
“Yeah. Yeah they do, among other things.” Lucy admitted sheepishly. “Sooo…can I call you lucky then?” Maria giggled as she playfully nudged Lucy’s shoulder with her own. “Call me whatever you want, I don’t bother with labels.” Lucy scoffed. “And don’t touch me.”
“Gee…sorry.” She mumbled. It was quiet…maria and Lucy sat in silence for a very long time, Lucy thought it was calming, maria thought it was awkward. “Soooo uh…how old are you?” She broke the silence.
“14.” Lucy replied. “No way! Me too!” Maria responded “ow!” Lucy hissed “don’t yell in my ear.” “Oh sorry…ha…ha…” maria chuckled nervously…
“I better be going.” Maria whispered. “Yeah…yeah.” Lucy agreed. “Mmhmmm…okay uh…it was nice to meet you…luciana…catch you later yeah? Get home safe, lucky.”
Lucy’s mental health suddenly declined as soon as the crisp cold air of autumn hit. She didn’t know what was going on, just knew she suddenly felt sluggish and she lost her temper 10 times for easily.
She had seen maria walking by her self a few times around the trailer park, she didn’t know why till she saw the Maria lived in the trailer right infront of her, “great. Just great” Lucy mumbled as she shut her curtains. Did Lucy care about Maria? She didn’t know she just knew she started to feel angry at her…but why? Was it the fact that Maria was so set on becoming her friend…? She didn’t know. Didn’t truly know anything.
Luciana had decided to sneak out that night, it wasn’t hard after all and she could always climb back in before the first light of dawn struck. She walked straight into the forest and straight towards the hotel. Even though she was lazy she still ran past that damned field. She went straight back to the same top floor with the same broken window.
She sat, for ages. Just thinking back to many things like the bullying in school, her relationship with her mother seeming to get bad, that girl that can’t seem to leave her alone…
Lucy felt like a hole was opening up in her stomach as she walked-almost ran to the roof of the building. Her eyebrows furrowed, her hands instinctively going to her pockets.
“Knew you’d be here.” Lucy sighed as she stepped just a bit closer. Maria was sitting on the ledge tears present in her eyes as she turned around and sniffed wiping the tears with her sleeve. “Oh yeah?” She weakly chuckled, it was clear her attempt at ‘masking’ wasn’t working.
“Why are you sitting on the ledge?” Lucy questioned, she already knew the answer but was asking in a way of ‘why here?’ “I don’t know” she replied as she looked down off the edge.
“Look” lucy sighed “I know im a bit of a dickhead alright? But whatever has happened in your life…you don’t need to do this you know?”
“Well what else am I meant to do?” Maria sobbed as she put her hands over her face. Lucy took more steps closer till she was right next to her, she rested her arms on the ledge as she looked at her. “Not this, thats for sure”
Silence. Was all they knew in this moment, Lucy was just there…smoking a cigarette while also getting ready to spring into action if Maria jumped. She tapped her fingernails on the concrete the only sound that seemed to fill the air. “How did your mother die.” Lucy filled the deafening silence.
“Went missing.” She replied before carrying on. “Went missing when I was 10 and her body was found…well what was left of it when i was 13.” Maria nodded her head as she looks at Lucy. “I miss her…” she sniffed.
“I get that.” Lucy mumbled. She didn’t truly get it. She had never experienced the loss of such a close relative before. But she didn’t want to make the situation worse.
“I…uh…pfft…I don’t actually get it…I-uh never lost a relative…especially not like that. So Uhm….you are a strong person, Maria. You need to remember that and I don’t think your mom would want you to kill yourself” Lucy wasn’t good at comforting she knew that. But to her surprise Maria got off the ledge and sat down on the floor with her knees to her chest.
Luciana plopped down next to her as she offered her cigarette to her, Maria shook her head. “More for me.” She chuckled as she took a drag. “You like exploring…like me?” Lucy asked softly—more softly than she anticipated.
“I guess so yeah, I mean I got nothing else better to do with my day.” Maria replied, she wasn’t smiling anymore, she had such a distant look in her eyes…
“Wanna…go…explore a new place with me…?” Lucy hinted. Lucy saw Maria’s eyes light up, the distant look now gone. The smile came back. “Really? I would love to you don’t even understand!” Maria giggled.
“Great…let’s go then.” Lucy stood up as she brushed the remaining dirt on her clothing. “Don’t ask where because frankly? I don’t know. But I imagine we will find something? This forest is filled with abandoned buildings” Lucy attempted a small smile but it looked more like a downwards smile instead.
Luciana and Maria walked for what seemed like hours, the first peaks of dawn were showing through but the girls? We’re determined on finding a new location. All of the way there Lucy and Maria…talked, about themselves, about life, about similar experiences…it was starting to form a friendship.
Something Lucy had never experienced before, a friendship…Luciana stopped talking sometimes to mutter the word ‘friendship’ didn’t feel right on her tongue.
Maria roughly grabbed Lucy’s arm to get her attention “LUCKY LOOK!” she squealed with excitement. Lucy looked in the direct of which Maria was pointing. It was a massive yet clearly lost in time—school. Lucy smiled as she walked to it. “Shit we need to jump the fence” she sighed as she slid her flashlight under the tiny gap inbetween the metal poles, she began to climb and so did maria.
When inside the buliding the girls were in awe, looking at left certificate’s on the walls this school dates back to the 1920s but because of the state it was in now both made a educated guess that it became abandoned during the 1950s.
They stayed close, at every little noise they would flinch then laugh. This was a moment of peace for Luciana. Most of the time when she was with anyone but her family it meant trouble. So being able to laugh with someone else was like taking a massive sigh of relief—the type you’d take after crying for hours.
They decided to settle in a classroom on the top floor to discuss more things about themselves.
“So yeah I sorta have a habit of biting rough surfaces when I’m mad” maria laughed as she wiped a tear away from her eye, maria let out a sigh as she smiled “so? What are yours, lucky?”
“Mine?” Lucy questioned. “yeah? Your habits, what are they?” Another beat of silence filled the air before Lucy looked at maria “uhhh…I guess…I smoke? I mean…come on now you’ve seen that. Under the surface though…” Lucy undid the shitting bandages around her left hand as she showed maria.
“I bite my skin, i don’t know why? I don’t get anything out of it…I used to have a habit of it as a kid and my mom would scream at me every single time…and my dad I guess whenever he was around.” maria took Lucy’s hand in hers as she looked at it “these are quite fresh no?” She questioned.
“No yeah, they are. The habit recently came back so…” Lucy gently slid her hand away from Maria’s grip as she did the bandages back up.
Maria went to say something but she heard something outside, a sound that can only be described as tv static, it was only for a split second though. Lucy hadn’t noticed it…yet she was too focused on getting the bandage back on. “Lucy…?” Maria shivered with a tremor present in her voice. Lucy looked up at her “hm?” “Did…did you hear that…?” Lucy looked around then outside. Nothing was there.
“Nope, why? what was it?” Lucy asked.
“I don’t know…? Like…static—tv static.”maria panted, suddenly on high alert as she looked out the window. “Maybe just your mind playing tricks on you, it happens…” Lucy trailed off “but…let’s just get out of here to be safe.” She finished off as she grabbed her flashlight and Maria’s hand before navigating out of the school.
While on the way out Lucy stepped on a glass photo frame, her boots immediately crushing the glass…well remaining glass. She looked down as she picked up the picture, she put it in her pocket not caring much of looking at it as if right now.
Lucy had snuck Maria into her room as they sat and discussed what that noise could’ve been…nothing they came up with could’ve made sense come on now? A tv head? Stupid.
“Hey uh, you know that picture I took?” Stated Lucy. “Yeah? What about it?” Maria replied. Lucy took the picture out of her pocket as she looked at it, Maria joined in, leaned in a bit as she cocked her head to the side…silence yet again.
“Ewww that one is ugly” Maria commented as she pointed at a young man…well when he was still young of course. Lucy chuckled as she shook her head. “Shhh…his spirit could’ve followed us…” Lucy whispered creepily, Maria’s smile faded as she looked at Lucy. “what…” suddenly Lucy tickled Maria’s side and they both broke into a fit of giggles and a mess of limbs.
“Noo Noo get off!” Maria cackled as she tried to get Lucy off her, but Lucy was stronger than she looked. “Nuh uh, missy!” She shouted back with an evil grin on her face. “No seriously dude im gonna piss myself! Get off!” Lucy jerked back as if stuck before putting her hands inbetween her knees. “Okay…Jesus don’t do that…” Lucy said with mock disgust.
The rest of the morning they were doing stuff friends would do, gossip, play-fight, talk more…just basic stuff like that. The picture they were staring at was long forgotten on Lucy’s bedroom floor…but, it was too late. What was done was done.
Days had gone by since the incident back in that abandoned school, nothing unusual or out of the ordinary happened to Luciana or Maria. They were okay—at peace even.
That was until things weren’t okay. Nightmares, hallucinations, paranoia…the sudden forgetfulness. The hallucinations were auditory at first—nothing visual. But the Sound of the static was constant, annoying, unbareable.
Luciana. being as introverted as she was, hated sociality as much as she did. only now craved a crowd, She would hang out with Maria everyday except they didn’t do anything but stay in bed and make up silly little theories for their shared experiences and hallucinations…they decided it might be better to not go exploring for a little bit. Let things settle down.
“Okay so…hear me out” Maria started “aliens.” A silence broke out before lucy chuckled and shook her head “that’s such a shit theory.” Maria tilted her head to the side letting a small smile expand on her face “oh yeah? You got any better theories, Lucky?”
“I do actually.” Lucy got up from the bed as she opened a drawer before pulling out sheets of paper and settling back down on the bed. “Okay so my theories are this” she paused before carrying on “there was once a family, the miller family. It was two grandparents, six parents…and a hell lot of kids…and-“ Lucy’s words were interrupted “I got it. A lot of people.” Maria joked as she slapped Lucy’s knee.
Lucy rolled her eyes as she carried on “all of them are dead. At least that is what is highly suspected. They went missing right in the same forest we met and…you know.” Maria nodded as lucy briefly paused… “what if the thing we heard was the same thing that killed the miller family? I mean…you never told me you know? What did you even see…?”
Maria zoned out before sniffing and looking at lucy “uhm…i don’t know…it was something in the trees…it was very easy to miss if i didn’t…you know…stare straight at it. It was like blending into the trees like quite literally it looked like a tree. But also didn’t if that makes sense? All I can remember was that it was very…very tall. Like beyond human, beyond anything I have ever seen before.” Maria thought for a second before shaking her head “it’s a blur honestly…it was only a few days ago yet…it’s like a sudden gained amnesia in a way.”
Lucy spent the last couple of hours taking both their minds off what had happened, they played video games, watched tv, dressed each other up, hell even prank calling. Yet the curiosity was still there no matter what they did—a question that hanged so heavily in the air.
So the date was now September 22nd 2009 and Luciana and Maria decided to go to a library to see if there was any hint or clue for anything that had happened.
“Find anything?” Maria asked looming over the many books Luciana had splayed out on a desk. “Nope, nothing.” Lucy replied her forehead resting on her hand in concentration. “There is only stuff about ghosts from like the 1820s nothing about a static noise…” Luciana slammed the book in frustration.
Maria pulled a chair out as she sat next to Luciana. “Might…be a crazy idea, but what if we go back to the hotel?” Maria asked—almost hesitantly. Luciana looked up at Maria. “Thats fucking insane.” “I know I know! But I mean…maybe…I don’t know we could get some more clues within the forest itself?” Maria clasped her hands together waiting for Lucy’s reply. Lucy sighed heavily as she smacked her head onto the desk.
Lucy doesn’t know why but it’s hard to say no to Maria, so here they were running through the forest to get to the hotel.
They both paused a second to let the patrol officers stroll by, when they were sure they won’t spot them they ran into the building. When on the top floor they looked for any leads.
When finding none they decided to just chill for a second. “When do you wanna go back?” Lucy asked softly. “I don’t know, definitely soon though I am freezing.” Maria replied, lucy nodded her head.
Just as they got up to leave they heard something or…rather Lucy did. Lucy paused in her tracks as she put Maria behind her protectively.
It wasn’t the static noise that caught Lucy off guard but the sound of people—multiple of them. Lucy rushed Maria to a dark corner where they both hid, Lucy’s eyes scanned the area till she saw them, a group of boys who were clearly under the influence.
Two members wondered off from the group and were heading a little too close to their hiding spot, only now did Maria realise the danger they were in. The boys had knives in their hands.
“The cops didn’t see you did they?” One of them asked. “Nope, sneaky as always.” The other one charmed in.
Lucy decided to grab Maria as they walked out of their hiding spot to try and walk past the two boys. “Hey! Woah? Gave me a heart attack girl?” One of the boys spoke up—mockingly putting his hand on his chest. Another boy scoffed and chuckled.
“Sorry.” Lucy replied her tone full of anger. lucy pulled Maria close to her as they successfully walked away from the boys and out of the building—little did they know that was far from the end.
Half way through walking among the forest Lucy realised they were being followed by the same two boys. “Don’t look back just keep walking.” She whispers in Maria’s ear. They were easy to ignore till they weren’t. They weren’t following for the reason you’d think—no they just wanted to fight.
A small stone hit Maria’s back and she let out a pained gasp before turning around, Lucy turned around aswell. “What do you want?” Lucy spat as she put Maria behind her once again.
“Oh us? Just looking to fight. But I feel like we need introductions. Names Jack, right here is my pal Nate.” He said gesturing to the boy next to him.
“Fight? Why exactly?” Lucy growled. “We don’t know you? So why-“
“Bored? Per-sides you look like you are looking for trouble hiding in that building” smirked Nate. Jack agreed. “Hey? No weapons. Just fists, make it fair.” Jack said as he dropped his weapon, Nate followed suit.
However, Lucy wasn’t going to give up her weapon that she secretly had in her jacket pocket. “We don’t want to fight!” Shrieked Maria as she gripped onto Lucy’s arm tighter.
“Oh come on! Give us a show ladies!” Jack declared as he rolled his sleeves up. Lucy looked back at Maria they knew that if they ran away from this they would just follow. Lucy whispered in Maria’s ear…or at least went to till the static noise came back causing Maria and Luciana to flinch back and cover their ears
It was louder than it ever was before, it felt like a drill to the skull. Jack and Nate watched in confusion…Maria looked at them “can you not hear that?!” She screamed. She couldn’t even hear her own voice above the noise.
“No? The fuck you taking?” Jack questioned, the boys thought it was just an excuse, just a reason for Maria and Lucy to get away…so they began to attack.
Nate pushed Lucy to floor and began to punch her, Jack started attacking Maria, first a slap then a push…Lucy wiggled the knife out of her jacket as she stabbed Nate in the thigh before pushing him off her.
Nate screamed in agony “THE BITCH HAS GOT A KNIFE!” Jack turned around…but Lucy was already onto him and stabbed him neck three times.
Maria fell back in fear as she covered her mouth. Lucy went back to Nate and began stabbing him, she wasn’t thinking clearly—driven only by fear and anger.
“LUCY!” Maria screamed…no answer “LUCIANA STOP!” no reply. Maria rushed up to her feet and dragged Lucy off Nate. “LUCIANA STOP IT!”
Luciana panted harshly, blood dripping down her face and body, she stared down at the now blood stained knife. She paused…and realised what she had done…she dropped the knife as she covered her mouth…”what the fuck did I do…” —only now did the static noise come to an abrupt stop.
