Huge shoutout and thanks to the @BFGoodrichtires crew for an incredible experience on the iconic Rubicon trail for the amazing #KM3 tire launch! Beautiful country, challenging trails, diesel Land Rover Defenders, gondola karaoke, and great new friends made for the trip.... did I mention the choppers 😍. Instead of purchasing advertising, BFG invited tons of race drivers, journalists, industry experts, and enthusiasts to test the new tire. We cruised around Lake Tahoe to test road performance, beat the tires on the punishing Rubicon trail, then rode along with some of the worlds best off-road racers. At the end of the trip I was not disappointed. These KM3 tires are so smooth driving, quiet, and grippy I may have to switch back to a mud terrain. Biggest question is what do I do with all the karaoke video?! HUNTING RIG THROWBACK: Growing up in Northern Nevada there is no lack of rough roads between hunting spots. Through the season you encounter everything from steep rocky climbs, to snow, mud, wash outs, long gravel roads, and some long pavement drives as well. My dad always took pride in his hunting rigs, all having a name of course, there was Rambo (the camo truck) which became my first vehicle, The Scorpion (Land Cruiser), and the Beast (F-250). A lot went into these vehicles. He worked on them all year and a lot of thought went into how to make them better. No topic was discussed more than the perfect tire. They are a big investment and finding the right one was always the challenge. You balance side wall and tire ply, climbing capability, traction, mud and snow handling, durability in rock, as well as pavement noise and handling. This week I will be testing a new tire the #BFGKM3 that is designed for just this type of terrain! The perfect western hunting tire. The @bfgoodrichtires KM3 will be put to the test in practically my backyard, through the Sierras and along the toughest sections of the Rubicon trail. #BFGonRubicon *As a side note the buck and camo truck picture was my first deer. My dad and I shot the two bucks at the same time the night before, the next morning was school picture day...haha #livewildhunthard

My grandpa used to tell me stories of driving his hunting rig through the Rubicon trail yearly during the summer, never missing a year for over a decade. It was his stories of the tough terrain that always made the trip a bucket list item for me. A real test, as rough of a road as you will find anywhere. It has been a trip so close to where I live, yet one I kept putting off... that is until this week. I am excited to have the chance to experience the trail as BFGoodrich launches their new KM3 tires on the Rubicon. I was lucky enough to get invited to experience an iconic place that someone who brought me up in the outdoors talked so much about. It is going to be cool to see the places I have heard so many stories of... like Arnold's Rock, Sluice Box, and the Martini Tree.
