Hello, so I've been rereading Blood Gulch Symphony Orchestra and I thought I'd let you know how much I absolutely love it! The (writing) voice you use for the story is so clean, clear, and confident. I love your depiction of Simmons and Grif and Wash and Tucker and literally everyone! Simmons is such a cool character in the story and has so many interesting bits. I could rave about the things I love about it for a while, but just wanted you know how much I love it. :)

Ohmygod, you absolutely made my day-- thank you so much for dropping by to say that, it genuinely makes me so happy!! BGSO is supposed to be my “forever WIP” fic that I wanted to consistently update to work on my writing and character voicing particularly, so I’m ecstatic that you like my depictions of the gang!

I haven’t explicitly said it (except in a comment response on AO3 just a few minutes ago), but I’ve been on an unspoken writing hiatus since I got my new drawing tablet a couple months ago. So basically, creative writing effort has only gone into the song parodies recently haha...

But, I’m excited to say that after finishing stuff for Valentines Day, I’ll be starting up BGSO again alongside a new series with BTHB! I’ve really missed writing (especially that fic, since I have so many things planned for it still), so I’m absolutely looking forward to spend time on it again!

Chapter 9 of BGSO: Prelude to a Kiss (Part 1)

Church brings drinks to Caboose’s place for Simmons’ first poker night with the Reds and Blues. The red team’s nerd seems like the kind of dude Church would get along with.

Hmm, yes, a two-part Churboose-oriented scene. The ideas I originally wanted to include for this chapter got lengthy, so I decided to split it into two. This actually worked out because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to tell this from Church or Caboose’s POV. So yep, spoiler alert, Caboose POV is next. (Still trying to figure out how that’s going to really be.)

Chapter 7 of BGSO: Mean To Me

Wash and Maine hang out at Outpost 48-A to grab some coffee before rehearsal on a lovely Friday morning. Some nerd walks in and hangs out with him. He’s kinda awkward, but seems nice.

(Crud I keep forgetting to link the song titles in the fic now that the jazz plot has started, I’ll do it tomorrow when I’m less lazy...)

Chapter 2 of BGSO: Red Clay

Our favorite not-cyborg meets some dudes who have, for unknown reasons, dubbed their section Red Team.

I thought of a neat little idea, for when we have the roster more built out, of making a seating chart and concert program to help keep track of everyone (“neat”– my nerd sirens are blaring inside my head right now and that’s okay. ha ha. yeahhh.). But for now, have a janky list of who we’ve met/know exists so far:

Principal Trumpet: Simmons
