What would be your version of Gilbert fun ?

- I’d start by releasing all captive orcas back into the wild

- My friend had the idea of haunting the BH cast and I’d so do that too

- sneak into concerts/fashion shows/movie premieres and prestigious events + might even cause some ghost drama if I’m feeling up for it

-haunt old theatres during play rehearsals

- honestly probably just sing and dance everywhere and anywhere

Also do you generally listen to music while writing and if so, is it usually the playlist that you share with us? Does Rey and Ben have a sound theme in your mind? And is it changing as the storyline progresses? I hope these questions don't appear silly to you. 😊 I just love your approach!

When I’m writing a particular chapter I usually have the ch playlist I send out with each chapter playing. I like having the songs in my head that capture specific moments. 

To get the full experience I totally suggest making mini playlists with these songs in spotify and listening to them as you read each chapter. You’ll see where my brain was at as you read. 

Specifically the first smut scene in chapter 7 was written completely with Lana Del Rey’s Burning Desire playing on repeat. Lyrics, beat, tempo, everything about that song SCREAMS that first sex scene for me. Not even kidding. It was actually written before I wrote the final version of the prelude - and sent to @nite0wl29 for her perusal - to which came the genesis of her “funny faces approved” because my smut made her face change to where her fam questioned what she was reading on her phone.

I feel like Rey and Ben don’t have specific songs that are just them individually in the fic but I’m probably wrong about that and just haven’t actually sat and thought about it. 

Buuuuut since you asked, I went out to lunch and thought about this. 

For Rey her song really throughout the fic is Lights On by FKA Twigs. Because it highlights her trust issues but also her willingness to push forward and move on from those issues. Another song for Rey that is for her later in the fic Head Over Feet by Alanis Morrisette. For blatantly obvious reasons if you know the lyrics to that song.

And tbh choosing from my playlist What Kind of Man by Florence + and the Machine and Believer by Imagine Dragons are my go-to Ben songs. There’s a lot of songs throughout my playlist that embody one, the other or both of my lovely protags. 

But tbh the overall theme of the entire fic can be summed up in one song which is not so coincidentally Bedroom Hymns by Florence + and the Machine. Thank you so much hon for the questions keep em coming!
