The evening had turned into late night and still his friend and fellow bar fly was yet to be seen. They had loosely made plans, and by that it was more a ‘I’ll be here on Thursday’ ‘Great, I’ll be here too’ more than anything else. Still, it was not often Bhari turned up this late, and ever since he mentioned a penchant for a so far unnamed dancer, he was surprised he did not take full advantage of his evening. Nursing a glass of absinthe with plenty of water to pace himself, his eyes wandered to the main stage.
There were plenty of familiar faces, and he pondered just for a moment which of the girls had stolen the other man’s heart. It was probably very easy to fall in love with the women there, but as a man who was victim to love; there were probably better girls to fall in love with. The jealousy would drive a man mad, he was sure. Tearing his eyes away, he shuffled the pocket watch out of his inner jacket pocket and hummed. A quarter to eleven. Should he choose a girl for the evening, he should probably put himself out there soon.
