Decided to do a live cover using my loop pedal. If you're impatient, you can probably skip ahead to the 3-minute mark.
Challenge Results
Thanks to my other computer's clock being too slow, the timing on this isn't entirely accurate. I couldn't/can't miss any of Community, so I had to do the mixdown and now upload using time between commercials. Instead of being a 90-minute song, I guess this is 95-ish. It's nothing great, but gotta commit to the challenge.

It has been quite awhile since I've recorded an actual song, apart from the little clips and samples I have posted, and that had to change. A couple months ago, I had recorded the main riff you hear at the beginning and the end. I had probably played it for 10 minutes straight because I found it soothing to play, but I never did anything with it.
30 Second Song
I've been spray painting a lot over the past couple days, so my hand is pretty sore. So, instead of sculpting clay, I went back to recording. This is what came out. In retrospect, this probably would have made a good full song. Oh wells.

Sci-Fi Theme
It had been awhile since I recorded anything, so I wanted to toy with my glockenspiel. Then I distorted a lot of things. Let it be known that everything in this track was recorded live, no looping. Then I got carried away with the effects. I think it has become my own sci-fi theme song.
Original: The Carolinas
My songs don't have lyrics, but bits and pieces do have words associated with them. In this case, the verses go "Be dop boop bop beee, be dop bah down to the Carolinas." Hence the title. Never been to the Carolinas, but it fit so well.
Technical note: Somehow after finalizing the track, the first half of the lead guitar part got deleted. Unaware, I saved the the project, so now that is lost forever. That is very frustrating to know especially since I think that first part where it kicks in is a tad too loud.
I have an original song ready to be worked on, but I felt the urge to making a different, more random piece. I simply wanted to make a blip of music. Nothing with much meaning or thought, just layers. And that's what I did.
