A gift for @goodolddumbbanana ‘s Bounty Hunter Sun Au!
Hope you like it!
(Also this takes place after Nexus leaves and before he’s picked up by D.Sun
“Jack, you ready to go?”
Sun set down his shot glass and grabbed his bag, tossing a few guns, mini-bombs, grenades, and close combat weapons into it.
“Almost!” Jack chugged the last of his apple cider and set it on the desk before following Sun into the ball pit.
Sun pressed a few buttons on his arm and sinking with Jack into the portal, not noticing the tiny robot following them through, and they’re in the target dimension. His employer said she wanted as little casualties as possible, so he had to keep this discreet.
The pair scaled up a few floors before sneaking through an open window, knocking the nearby guards out and entering the elevator. Jack sat down with his legs crossed on the floor of the elevator, chewing on a sponge while Sun scrolled through the family group chat. Lunar and Earth were out shopping and said they wouldn’t be home for a couple hours, so he didn’t have to worry about them for a while.
DING!
Sun took out his dagger and Jack unsheathed his knife-hands in preparation, but the floor was empty.
Too empty...
“Stay on guard...” Sun whispered as the two snuck over to her bedroom and pried open the door.
And there she was.
It’s always odd when his target looks like a family member. He always had to remind himself that this isn’t his sister. He shouldn’t feel anything towards her. And yet he hesitated.
That day Sun learned.
He learned to never hesitate again.
A flash of green shot out from his left, too fast for him to retaliate, and his back hit the floor with a hard thud.
His head spun, and he tried to shove his attacker off him, but he was stuck. And then there was a crunch.
A loud, painful crunch.
Sun yelled out in pain as he felt his arm being ripped off his torso, oil oozing out onto the carpet before the weight was lifted.
Jack pounced onto Monty, ripping into his chest and tearing at his wires and looking for his core.
Sun slowly stood up, his vision blurry and consciousness fading slowly.
Damnit Sun. You’ve survived worse, finish the job.
Sun’s shaking hand reached into his bag and pulled out his gun.
BANG
Sun’s vision finally begun to fade. He finally allowed himself to rest. The job was done.
Jack frantically pressed the buttons on his arm and they disappeared.

Sun sat up groggily before being pushed down again by a mechanical arm.
“Stay still, Sunrise. We aren’t done with repairs yet.”
Repairs? Oh, he must have passed out again. He needs to start being more careful on these missions...
“Spainard, did we get the payment yet?”
“Payment from Earth 21-18-5-19 received. Repairs complete.
Sun sighed with relief and stretched before staring down at the sleeping Jack near the repair table. He paused for a second before picking him up and carrying him through the portal home.
Once Jack was tucked in and the cats were fed, he trudged up the stairs and was prepared to flop into his bed to charge, but there were already two new bounties on his bed.
No rest for a bounty hunter apparently.
