I caught an Alpha Magikarp, guys!
I was out wandering around on Wyrdeer (the only Ride Pokemon I got atm) the cliff tops in the Obsidian Fieldlands (Warning; There are higher level Pokemon there, averages seem to be mid 20s with Alphas around 40). And then I fell.
But I didn't die.
I was hurt, but had landed on a little outcropping instead of the water. So once I recovered, I continued exploring (this time, more carefully) and I saw something move in the water. So I threw a couple of Pokeballs at it. And, what do you know, it was a Magikarp.
Cool, I thought before I missed my jump and fell.
Sometime later, I wandeted around the river edge at the top of the cliffs (near the Falls and Worn Bridge area, I think) and I saw something moving again in the water so I got closer.
More Magikarp!

I threw more Pokeballs at it, but they wouldn't do anything but sink. Weird, and then I watched as one Magikarp swam to the surface and went into a ball. (Thus, a tip for catching Water Pokemon, wait for them to surface). I caught a couple of them that way.
Fast forward to later at the pastures, I was going through releasing Pokemon when I noticed a little mark by the First Magikarp's name. I double-checked the mark and it looked like the same as some of the other alpha Pokemon I caught. So I took out all my Magikarp and tossed them out for a size comparison.
Two regular Magikarp were pretty decent, one slightly bigger than the other.
The Alpha Magikarp tho?
It was FUCKING Huge!
"You could feed so many people if you ate that thing!" I told my partner, who laughed into his own doom-scrolling. I continued "I mean, I know it's not the point of Pokemon, but look! It's so big!"
"Yup."
An idea occurred to me, "@draxen1123, How big is the Gyrados it evolves into going to be?"
"Very big."
"Wow!" I beamed, "This game is so cool!"
