LYRA SLAUGHTERBANE — THE LADY OF ROT / THE FALSE REAPER

From the darkest depths of devilry, she clawed her way out. She did not care where she went. All that she was was that she was inevitable. A force. A hunger. A deep, desperate, lonely desire. Lyra is incredibly supercilious and haughty. Born from the cultivation of dark matter, Lyra was fathomed without a real understanding of who she is and who she was meant to be. This has left her with a deep insecurity and dubiety about herself. Lyra has had no direction in her existence, even from other eldritch anomalies. These anomalies often decayed from an inability to maintain a physical form, yet Lyra remained. She always remained. Yet she never understood or had even the slightest clue why that was. So, in turn she ended up developing a very self-absorbed and arrogant attitude, deciding that she was destined for more. While those like her lived and died repeatedly, she walked the line between the physical world and the afterlife. She was the only one who did. Lyra is an incomprehensible eldritch beast, even to herself. Now, Lyra believes herself to be the one to determine who lives and who dies, that she is death itself, when in reality she truly isn’t much different from the anomalies that existed before her… She still believes she’s different. She has to be… Right?

finished this recently, just posting now that i feel a bit better to do so. here is yet another new OC for yet another new OC headworld! and probably my last one for a while. suffice to say, i have a lot of worlds to dance around in and i'm quite happy with all of them. now it's time to flesh them out with characters and worldbuilding!

the working title for the world lyra is from is "the dying of kuvorot". lyra is a fun character. i imagine her as both the protagonist and antagonist of TDoK i have yet to fully expand this concept for now, but there will certainly be more as i work on this project and others in my free time!

WORLD

Kuvorot is a near apocalyptic, terrestrial planet locked in a declining industrial age. The intelligent inhabitants of Kuvorot are anthropomorphic dinosaurian monstrosities. Supernatural, magic-adjacent energy called “devilry” flows within the inhabitants and fauna of this world. There are different forms of devilry, ranging from necromantic to telekinetic abilities. Devilry can only be utilized if one practices it, but if it is not used, then it tends to fade with age. However, devilry has since been rejected by Kuvorotian society due to advancing technology. In the height of Kuvorot’s industrial age, many countries developed machines that challenged even devilry. That was, until citizens uncovered ways to incorporate technology with supernatural abilities. This led to the shunning of all paranormal teachings and utilization of devilry in day to day lives, and over thousands of years, Kuvorotians have since begun to rely on rust-covered, industrial technology. Some Kuvorotians still practice devilry in secrecy from the prying eyes of world regimes. Due to a lack of legalized devilry practice, this has led many down dangerous paths with their abilities. A buildup of dark matter and negative energy looms over Kuvorot, resulting in the manifestation of eldritch anomalies that roam the now pseudo-apocalyptic landscape. Most of these anomalies fail to maintain a physical form for more than a few weeks, though they still pose an immense threat for the short time that they live. Inhabitants of Kuvorot have developed special biotechnology to combat the anomalies.

LYRA'S STORY

Lyra was one of the many eldritch anomalies that slithered from between space-time to the physical world of Kuvorot. Unlike other anomalies, Lyra has maintained a physical form for more than a few weeks. Years even, hundreds of years. Lyra is more real than any anomaly before and after her and with no real explanation as to why or how. She often chalks her existence up to being the manifestation of all that forbidden devilry. Lyra supposes she was the answer to all that was forbidden, that she was the one who would determine those who live and those who perish. Despite being an anomaly, she has come to form her own twisted understanding of mortality, and that she is one who is not granted the luxury of a temporary life. She was born from death and destined to witness death again and again, and soon, she became one to embody it. Driven mad by her own lack of self-comprehension, Lyra has become crazed with a need to understand why she had been given life, while simultaneously and rather paradoxically taking it. She is an eldritch being that cannot even comprehend herself. Lyra believes that perhaps by walking the physical world and taking the lives of those she deems “unworthy” of survival, then she too can begin to understand herself and what could and could not be taken from her. This has proven to be a mostly fruitless effort. Lyra has taken quite a liking to inflicting violence upon those weaker than her, though. Fortunately she is rather selective with her targets. She will not attack those who she personally deems innocent. Lyra has become something of a bogeyman in select parts of Kuvorot. She’s gained the title of the “False Reaper”, a beast that exists as a cautionary tale of greed and confusion. That losing one’s way will result in their unwarranted demise. It depends on who tells the story, though. Some believe Lyra is just another legend born from years of battle against anomalies, some claim to have met her and lived to tell the tale. Until then, Lyra remains on the hunt.

i was wondering if you could form some sort of one shot of sub! monster x dom! reader? idkk if youre willing to do that, (as seen in ur other posts the reader is mostly sub) but id appreciate it if u could respond to this ask:)

Yes ofc, I would love to do that! I’ve done sub!monster with dom!reader a handful of times before, I enjoy it a lot. Especially when the monster is usually dom but is giving control to reader.

I feel like it would be really freeing and euphoric for this big scary dominating monster to give up their control and trust in their partner to give them the pleasure and release they need. And add some whimpering, whining, and begging from the monster and you got an absolutely amazing fic.

It creates a very interesting and fun dynamic when you have a monster and a human. So it’s fun to mix that up and explore it.

Give me a specific request or monster or whatever you have an in mind for the fic and I’ll add it to my to-do list. This dynamic inspires me a lot so they can be super easy to write.
